I saw this on chargerforums;

yo guys,

I called superchips, and they said next week they will start the shipping... (i know u already knew that) but their was no hesitation in his voice. and then i asked about the 8 hp gain, and he stated "well its better than stock but in the file here it says the major changes were in the torque managment, shift points, and rev limmiter"

Another post from lxforums;
According to the rep I talked to today, when he dropped the car, the chips shipped at the end of the day and more will ship on Monday to the suppliers. THey will go out after that. Definitely the final release day was today. They were still printing manuals for some, but they really did ship several groups out today.

2-24-06

It's getting hard to believe anything at this point, one thing for sure is the inferno red color will add some cabin performance hands down.

An AWD Hemi with Superchips:
Ok...first impression....

First - I have to put a disclaimer here. I have been driving a bone stock Ford F-150 rental for the last two weeks. This car was severly underpowered, rode rough, and was generally a good commuter car, but not anything in the performance category.

Today they returned my Magnum, but ... the personality is changed. With Borla 140125 exhaust the car always growled upon start and was ready to go. The damn thing snarled at me like I couldn't believe. I am not sure what they did to it but it sounds considerably angrier. So, setting aside the genuine concern I decided to give it a shot. Either I have been driving the Ford to long or this car is god damn pissed at me for leaving it at Superchips so long. I literally shot out of the driveway before I knew what was happening. After a quick brake and personal reassessment I decided to try driving it again. I drove calmly to a open area about 400 feet and everything was normal, except the sound. I kid you not, the car seemed ready to go.

So I decide to try the autostick take off. First thing to note is that moving into auto stick now goes to first gear instead of fourth (great improvement). Previously I have tried to get the AWD to burn out with limited success - including the brake stand. At most I get a small chirp. So I decided I should go with the brake stand immediately just in case. The car literally pulled so hard that I chickened out and released the brake. I am taking no rev limited forced shift, nothing. If I hadn't put it into second quickly I would have been past the redline almost immediately. I returned to the office, parked the car, and came to post this with literally the largest grin I have ever had.....for events that I can discuss on this board.

Maybe it was my Ford experience, or just the lack of time with the Magnum, but I have literally never been prouder. More test and comments to follow, but for now I am truly satisfied. You don't have to take my word for it - I am sure when other people receive their chips the boards will light up. Talk about bringing a car to life. The experience can literally only be described as violent.

Note - The programmer comes with a 87 octane program as well as a 91(also 93 if you want) program. I have not tested anything with the programmer itself since they installed the program when they returned it.

2nd note - I am going to check tire pressure and things because I was told by someone watching that my short acceleration followed by mid to heavy breaking potentially bottomed out the front of the car. Since hardware mods were done this is going to require further testing to see if either something is up with suspenson, tire pressure, or if the acceleration followed by hard breaking is just too bad ass.

Sorry for the limited details and I hope the future does not show that I have overstated the programmer, but for first impressions I am very pleased,

That's AWESOME....just what is needed. As for the Autostick going to 1st Im assuming that is only if you are stopped.....I hope...

That's a very encouraging post, Logan214.

Here's hoping that all future impressions and findings further substantiate your initial ones.

I am not trying to be a kill joy in the least bit, I would hope that the super-chip would be that good but I doubt that much of a change would have been made from just adding a chip and exhaust. Coming from driving a truck it could have seemed like a huge improvement and it probably sounded like one from the stock exhaust but all we are talking about is potentially 25 horses, nothing that is going to bottom it out while power jacking the car. Once again I wish that the performance gains were that great but I just can't see it. Just my 2 pennies on the floor.

I see the website shows only 87 and 91 (93) tunes... so this would then mean no stock (89) tune. If so, would that indicate the 87 tune would then be approx. the performance equivalent to our current 89 setup, but with cheaper gas or would it be slower, but with cheaper gas?

Actually if torque management is now disabled it MAY be adding your 8 HP but the tranny is probably now fully engaging the differential... ie you may now be REALLY using closer to 100% of available torque to launch the car...

Its the lake fllowing through a river anaology.... yes adding a few gallons of water wont make a difference in the POWER the lake can push into the river but if I widden the banks then im going to GET A LOT MORE FLOW....
