HELP!! Does anyone know what this is for?

Does anyone know what the little red light, located under and to the right of the fuel gauge is for? It normally comes on for a second when you start up your car, then usually goes out. My wife told me that this light was on while she was driving the car. I looked it up in the owners manual, (pages 138-139) and it gives no description of its use there either? What in the world is it for?
Anybody know? I took the car for a ride, and everything seems to be ok, I could not get the light to come on and stay on like she said. I told her that the all knowing experts here on the Forum will let me know. What is it for?

Small circle of red? Go hit your lock button, see if it starts a slow blink after about 17 seconds or so. If so, its the stock alarm system.

Yes,
This happened to me a while back and I made a thread on it.
It gave me a Chime code of "SKIM".
It happened once or maybe twice and never happened again.
That was some time ago.
Here, check out the other thread.
