WTF?

What sense does that make? It's not and SRT vehicle. Imagine if Mercedes allowed you to put an AMG badge on any of their cars.

I really don't understand the rationale behind this. It just doesn't make sense.
I've been trying to find out everything I can about the SRT Design Group package. We can debate all you want on any thread other than this one, about reasons for and against going SRT8 vs. Fake8. No big deal. I just wanna know when we truly will know more abou the SRT Design Group package. I found this link while doing some searching. Anyone know if the dates pertaining to ACC and SRT Design Group productions are still accurate?

2007 CHRYSLER 300 Series
Adaptive Speed Control (NHP) is on hold until 01/08/07.
SRT Design Group (AJM) on the LXCH48 are on hold until 12/01/06.

I posted the December 1st date a long time ago on the first post in this thread and the latest inside info I have still lists 12/1 as the startup date. I believe the dealer order banks are now open for this option.

No way I'm going to order this 'site unseen'. The badging concerns me. The seats concern me too. No one knows 100% what this creature will look like. I've read the seats are exactly like the SRT8 seats (leather/suede). I've also read where they're vinyl seats w/ perforated suede inserts. That concerns me.

I know its a bit played out, but damnit I love chrome. Monochromatic works for others, but not me. I wanna/need to find out if everything can be chromed (side moldings, mirrors, front/rear bumbers, you know...everything that was chrome on the C)

Anyone know the difference between "Power Multi-Function Fold-Away Mirrors" and "Multi-Function Power Folding Mirrors"

Basically, I need to know what do I have to 'give up' with other packages ie, Luxury Group and Protection Group II packages, in order to get SRT Design Package. 20" rims/tires won't be possible for me for a long long long long time if I don't get them from the factory (my wife does not understand why I NEED 20s)

Any help is always appreciated.

I wouldn't dare omit Protection Group II That's far more important than a 6 disk radio or 20" rims.

According to the 300 literature, all you give up in PGII is the tires obviously b/c the SRT Design Group has its own 20's. Only thing that looks like you give up in the LGII is the crome mirrors.

Anyone know what the high-speed engine controller is/does?

Thx

If you don't like the badge, take it off. The seats will look exactly, or actually be, the seats used in the magnum and charger R/T package. This is the R/T package for the 300.

LOL what I meant was that PGII == side airbags, the tires mean nothing, though they're not nearly as bad as people say they are.

I hear ya. The wife is mandating PGII b/c of the side airbags. I agree w/ her especially since I want the ParkAssist feature

R/T seats in Magnum & Charger - leather or vinyl? Only having one interior choice (dark graystone) on a black car really doesn't do much for me! People are already going to question my judgement of buying a black car in Texas. I don't need to give'em any more ammo by buying dark leather interior as well.
