For those over 30k miles

Has anyone had the 30k mile service at their chrysler dealership, if so how much did they charge. My dealership quoted me at $600, i think that is a bit steep, but I could be wrong. Has anyone had the service elsewhere, if so how much? And lasty who just hasn't had the 30k mile service? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

How about my dealer charging $850. The main reason my 300C has 40K miles and no tune up and still running strong like the Magnum next to it with only 7k miles. Plenty of varied price quotes - it depends on where you live. Do a search on tune-up here for more posts.

I just had mine done.

Services done :

Oil Change
Avr Test (battery, alternator, regulator test)
Performance Service (reduce Carbon Build up, Minimize WaterCondensation,
remove varnish from fuel system, inspect plugs, pcv and induction)

Tire Rotation (inspect brakes, rotors, lines, fluid)
Rear Brakes (service, clean, adjust, lubicate)
Transmission Service (remove & clean pan, check linkage, replace fluid, filter, gasket)

Price 523.53 Cdn

I could have gone to another non-chrysler shop and had it done cheaper, however I had 3 reasons for doing it there. 1- They have it on file I have done all the REQUIRED service in case of a warrenty issue. 2- I have heard abou the issue with contaminated tranny fluid and wanted it looked at by a chrsler Tech so they could warrenty it if necessary. 3- I run the SuperChips tuner with custom tranny specs, I know it runs the tranny harder due to the reduce torque management, probably stesses other key components with the way I drive.

So ya, it is damn expensive, but for me I sleep better. At least they can't say I didn't follow the required services. It's in their computer.

This and other threads helped alot. Took mine in for the 30,000 service today. Did not need tires rotated (had that done at tire place), did not need brakes checked (checked when tires rotated), did not need air cleaner (did myself), said no to PCV valve and no to air conditioning filter (hardly ever use it and never changed one on a car in my life). They wanted $450 for all this checking and rotating plus oil change. They wanted to do a transmission service too. I told them I had the TSB done a while back and also the manual says not until 60,000. The $450 did not include the plugs! Funny thing is they told me these were platimun plugs and did not need to be changed - I had them double check that and they were like oops you are right (and this has been a pretty good service place so far to me).

So I had them change the plugs and do an oil change and check and cap off all fluids. Total came to $235 including tax. This is in Central New Jersey where most things cost alot. Thanks guys to this thread and the other threads on this subject. I feel I would have been ripped off no doubt.

Holy Smokes! The correct O.E. champion plugs are $1.39 each at NAPA. It doesn't look like they are that hard to change either. I'll be doing it myself thank you

Thats the way to do it...a check up and a tune up that probably get done for under a 100 dollars and less that an hour, is incredible how some people are getting charge so much.

Yea I know, unbelievable. See C Mans link above to do it yourself. At a leisurely type pace it took 1.5 hours to do and the plugs cost $41 (two per cylinder). You also need a torque wrench. I'll pay $189 for the tune up (the rest was the oil change, fluids and tax) cause I just don't want to take the time to do it. Based on the time one would expect about that much from a dealer. Not going to pay $450-850 for a 30,000 mile service though.
