What's happened to Edit button?

I need to update my Heritage Edition Build Sequence thread for ZELKO's new ride, but when I opened the thread to edit post #1... I have no edit button... on any of my posts, in any thread.

Is it just moi? Don't know that anything has changed with my computer since 7/14/06 (the last time I editing the list).

Hmmm... I have a edit button in this thread, and in both of these posts... but not the Build Sequence thread... Hmmm.

It happened to me a few days ago in a few threads I was wanting to edit as well.

Today it seems to be fine with me. I have edited a few post's earlier today.

I was trying to edit a post yesterday and got a message that there was a 10 minute edit limit. I was in the edit mode and probably took too long. Just a few minutes ago I went back to edit a post about the ESP and noticed the edit button is gone. This sucks big time. We're mad as hell and not going to take it any longer...haha. Any suggestions? Well I guess we just have to ask ekool to be kool and give us our buttons back.

EDIT: See it works for 10 minutes
EDIT: That's 1 minute.
EDIT: That's 2 minutes
EDIT: That's 3 minutes and so on and so forth.

The 10 minute edit rule must have been implemented by Ekool, the website admin.
If I recall correctly, about a year ago he tried the same thing, but then after a few days got ride of the 10 minute edit restriction. I bet he started it again because of the Hennessey thread.
IMO, the 10 minute rule is treating the forum members like children.
Who cares if someone later changes their original post. And if we want to make sure someone doesn't change their previous comments, we can quote their comment, fixing their original statement.

I’ve noticed that the slowness of the board seems to drag some functions down. When I was last on at 7 I had no problem editing a thread right away. I like to try and edit it so fast that it doesn’t put the notice down at the bottom that the thread has been edited. It let me then.
The board’s slowness however is driving me crazy as I am getting errors that there is something wrong with the database.

It took the system 3.5 minutes to post this message. I was able to edit right away, however since it took it so long to get to this point you can't rush it. I know better times are ahead.

Having a 10 min. edit rule makes keeping a list like the Heritage Edition Build Sequence IMPOSSIBLE! Just looking at that thread and how long it's taken to add the names that are there. It makes no sense to have to start a new thread every time someone provides new info. If this continues, my only option will be to keep the list going over at LXforums.com and only reference it here. Too bad, since this is supposed to be the "home" of 300C info!

I have a feeling it was re-introduced to prevent a certain poster in a certain thread from editing out certain comments that were made in a fit of anger. It became a non issue when a certain member (well it was jMatt...haha) decided to quote all of the certain poster's posts. At least I'm fairly certain that's the way it went down. I can't of course be 100% certain about certain things I pointed out though. To me it certainly makes sense. I'd be almost certain that ekool will bring back the edit feature when certain things blow over.
