Dealer Starscan - Besides Enable DRL, What Else Can It Do??

In searching through the posts, I see that Meister figured out how the dealer can enable DRL (Daytime Running Lights) on our 300C by using their StarSCAN Unit. I've called and set up an appointment to have this done to my car.

Is anybody friendly with a DCX tech who can find out for us what other "options" are available by using the StarScan unit?

Also, I take it that this unit is not for sale to non DCX service centers but, has anybody found/have one? How did you get it?

Since it's such a cool feature, here is the link to the DRL thread, in case you missed it:

Anyone who wants one can buy it. About $4,500 plus an annual update fee (first year is included). You can go to http://miller.spx.com to order. if you head over to lxforums and look in the knowledgebase you will see some of the features of the starscan. It is primarily a diagnostic and troubleshooting tool. Throttle calibration, graphing, uploading to the modules in the car (to update the software), air conditioning cool down test, have the pcm relearn the relation between the cam sensor and the crank sensor (really useful when you have just changed out the cam), recalibrate the sensors in the passenger seat, limited ability to adjust tire size, turn on all of the convenience features like lights on with wipers, etc, etc, etc.

No real tuning capabilities.

Thanks for the information Magnumfreak, very useful. I think it's better to go to a dealer/tech and tell them what you want rather than asking if it can be done.

This forum rocks!

Magnum Freak didn't bother to say that HE has re-flashed more LX
cars that probably ALL the dealers in North America. He did mine &
about 8 others October '05, always brings HIS personal StarScan to
all M & G's he goes to, and reflashes those that want it- FOR FREE !!!
Also, for something a lot more affordable to all, go to the LX Forum,
search for Project Morpheus ..a device that will make the Flashpaq
obselete, and you'll be able to adjust your car's computer to your
spec's. Take a look..it's coming soon..Stan

Got my DRL Enabled!

I got my DRL lights enabled at the nearest dealership (not where I bouth my car), took about five minutes and best part, it was free. I printed out the instructions from the LX forum with the pics and the tech was able to do this without any problems. As is customary when this mod is done for free, I sent a couple of pizzas to the service dept.

By the way, I also changed the lamps to Nokya Artic White (100w low 120w high), changed the fog lights to 65w and replaced interior bulbs with LEDs.

As soon as it stops raining and I get a chance to wash and wax my princess, I'll take and post some pictures, especially since she looks so nice with her new grill and black chrome windows.

I may wait until latter next week to post the pictures, when she has her new wheels and tires (already on order).
