Question Good Body Shop?

Greetings fellow enthusiasts:

Can anyone recommend a good body shop anywhere in the AZ or SoCal area?

Thursday evening, contrary to all of the warnings in my owners manual, I tried to defy the laws of physics with my SRT-8, and failed. It seems I really can't make the right turn into my driveway at 60-75 mph. Damn.

Anyway, I am seeking referrals for a good shop to restore my SRT-8.

Yeah, yeah, I know, everyone wants to see pic's. I'll post em up soon. Cosmetic damage really. Front fender, drivers door, rear quarter panel, rocker panel, some creases on the roof, and pushed both drivers side tires off the beads from my two wheeled landing.

No, sadly, I am NOT kidding. And Yes, I will be attending Willow Springs on September 8th with my heavily modified SRT-8. I recommend NOT trying to pass me on the left!

BTW: I asked the dealer how much he'd give me for my car as is with 36,000 miles. They offered me $17,000. Woo Hoo! I told him I'd cut the roof off and put sand paddle tires on it and take it to the dunes before I'd sell it for that!

Hey, if anyone wants to buy it PM me. Original owner, dealer maintained, only driven to and from Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Firebird, Speed World, and California Raceways on Sundays!!!!

Dan,

OMG, this is horrible! Sorry to hear it. It sounds like you semi-rolled your car up on 2 tires. I only know of some great body shops here in Central Cal. so that won't help you out at the moment. Don't worry, our good buddies are all going to chime in with wonderful body shops for you in no time at all! (And, that won't be Chris Butler.)

Now, please share the REAL story of this misadventure!

When you get the estimate to repair, that $17,000 offer may not sound so bad

But I like your "Sandrail Mod" idea too.........

Dan,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune . Too bad it wasn't stolen/borrowed and miraculously found by you or the police .Then the repair would thankfully be covered by the insurance companies we give so much of our hard earned money to . Anyway , I don't think anyone will be passing you on the right or left.Or following to close behind you(sorry CB). And to think 36,000 lovingly pampered miles on your baby is only worth 17 large to them.I guess they don't surf our little forum here . Does your dealer have a paint shop in house or do they outsource to someone they trust ?? Take care and stay off the landscaping , Mike .

Wow, that really sucks Dan! I’m sure you’ll get your beast back to what she was before the “unfortunate incident” took place. Besides, if she can survive wind tunnel training with CB out in the dessert, she’ll be fine! Is your windshield ok?

Wow...

When I saw the heading "Body Shops." I didn't even think to open since I don't know any body shops.

That is horrible and unreal, Dan.

Are you saying that you are going to repair the beast???? Have any photos?

BTW - I think you can drive your car into your garage at 70. Probably only you though.

Dan,

Crown Collision Ctr
876 N Abalone Dr
Gilbert, AZ 85233
(480) 926-4111

They did some work on my 8 just before the Spring Fling. Did it in 3 days as promised, and for exactly the amount quoted. I was very happy with the quality of their work. Price wasn't bad either. It's a large facility and the building is only a couple of years old.

I'm ready to list my house. My next door neighbor is a realtor. Cindy has been talking to someone. Do you work outside of Scottsdale? My house is about a minute from the body shop. Call me tomorrow afternoon.

Careful, Hal! I can see it now:

*some realtor comes to show clients*

Customer: "blah blah, yeah it's a nice house, theonly thing that bugs me is all those tire marks outside, they look kinda suspcious"

Realtor: "The funny thing is that every house with that sign I've seen, had them all over the driveway, and if not in the driveway, in the street!

lol

That's funny. Hadn't thought about that. I still have some marks from the Nitto 315DR's from the Z28 out front.
