Factory Uconnect Install?

Has anyone here installed the Factory Uconnect in their 300? I received my Uconnect package from MoparSuperCenter today which includes the Mirror, Mirror harness, and uconnect module. I also ordered the extra harness I need from Lxharness.com. (should arrive in a couple of days)

I was wondering if anyone here has done this install and has any tips or suggestions.. thanks

Sorry I can't help you but...

When you do get this installed, please post detailed instructions with pics, if you can. Help the rest of us out!

I was planning on it. My extra harness should arrive by Friday, so I should have some time this weekend for this project.

Yes, it's been done before. Check jaak's thread from this past June here Didn't get the Factory Uconnect and wish you had? Now it's easy!. There's a link back to lxforums for the harness in his first post. You probably know all about that though.

Thanks Rambit, I did read a few threads on Lxforums and the chargerforums. I wanted to find out if there was anything different with the install on a 300.

I think jaak's the guy to ask for details on the install. I just found another link to lxforums here in another thread, but for some reason I can't get it to load so I don't know what's in it. I suspect there's way more info over there than here on this. http://www.lxforums.com/board/showth...6&page=1&pp=10

Thanks again.

My harness is already here and my kit is coming on Friday as well as the Sirius Radio and 2-Way Remote upgrade. I'll be taking pics the whole way!

Just checked the link this morning and it's working fine now. I read somewhere else lxforums was down last night. I think that's the thread you need to read.

Hey, it's an identical install! I just did it on mine and was gonna take all sorts of pics but it's not necessary as it's all the same and I did mine in the dark - lol. I couldn't wait for morning! I installed my 2-Way Remote Upgrade and the uConnect in just under two hours, but I've had the dash apart once before when I did the remote start, so I kinda knew my way around already.

One tip - when you're ready to insert the 6 wires on the JET-Harness into the mirror harness connector, slide the connector off it's mount. You can get enough slack to see all the pins and wires easily. When you insert the pins into the plug, they'll only go in one way, but you need a little force. Not too much, but just grab the end of the metal pin where the wire starts with a needle nose plier and push a bit. Once it's in, you'll hear and feel a little snap as it locks into place. Make sure you have the correct wire in the correct slot and match it up with the harness wire just to be sure.

That all said, thie MOD is just AWESOME and I recommend it to EVERYONE. Special Thanks to jaak and JetPilot and everyone that made this possible!
