How long do you have once the gas light comes on?

I had to go show a house and my light popped on as I left my office, and I got all the way back to get gas, it was atleast 30 miles, so I was just wondering how much more did I have or was I pretty much running on fumes at that point?

How many gallons did it take when you filled it up? That will tell you how much range you had left.

I have never driven my car out of gas but it sounds like you almost did. I was returning from a long road trip (800 miles in 11 hours) last night and got my fill gas icon at about 40 mile to empty.

If you scroll through your EVIC, using the controls on the sterring wheel. One of the screens should tell/show you (miles to empty).

If it is not found on the regular scrolling, in EVIC. Hold down the music note and the compass buttons together. About 10 seconds. You will see a new screen in the speedo gauge pop up, let go of the buttons. Then use the up/down buttons on the left of steering wheel to scroll through the other screens. To cancel hit the compass or music note button. A neat feautre on one screen, you can see in digital, your speed, RPM, volt meter. I like to use that screen on long drives when I set cruise control.

Not quite right Freebird... I find that once the low fuel light comes on, the miles to empty goes away and the indication is simply LOW FUEL. Didn't like that discovery at all.

Thanks for the heads up GTL . Simply going to LOW FUEL is a big WTF for me . When I see I have about 20 miles to empty, on the screen, I pull over and fill up. With FreebirdSRT.

Since SRT II is a daily. When ever I get to 1/4 tank, until empty. I fill up. You can burn a 1/4 tank in Houston driving, real quick. Especially if you are not watching your gauge. I noticed I need to be more aware of how much gas is left in these SRT's . Hard to get my lead foot (had it since I was a kid, lol) out of the gas pedal .

Cool, thanks guys. And ya it just reads 'low fuel' when it gets past a certain level.

As for how many gallons, I didnt even think about paying attention to that. All I watch now is how much $ its gonna cost to fill. This one was well over $50.

Saw a post a while back that claimed it the light on with 10% of the gas left. Miles will be dependant on what kind of MPG you are getting. As I monitor mine... the 10% figure is very accurate.
