excessive lifter noise???

05/c 40k use mobil synthetic 5-30, have excessive lifter noise. very intermitant. all rpm's any thoughts??

First off, for a 5.7 you should be using 5w20 oil.

All documentation...owner's manuals, shop manuals, etc. specifiy 5w20.

Your Ram didn't have the MDS that the 300 has, thus the need for a different weight oil.

Your Ram didn't have the MDS that the 300 has, thus the need for a different weight oil.[/quo

Will change now. Thanks!!!! Did not believe that slight diverence would matter. The noise just started, but been using 5-30 for 5000 miles.

Some of the hottest and meanest debates this forum has ever seen happened over oil. I’m sure our Admin is cringing at the thought of another oil thread. Most believe in following what the good book (owner’s manual) recommends.

Ok so what's best - - Mobil One, Amsoil, Syntec, or Pure Canola Oil? Or maybe Vegetable oil? Is there really any difference? Where's White Diamond when you need him to get another oil thread going?
