Hi All,
I have a 2005 Chrysler 300, 5.7 V8 Hemi. It is at about 235k miles. It has been running fine (for the most part), but 2 days ago it wouldn't start. I have a feeling it is the fuel pump.
This is something I can do, but I don't want to drop $100 if it's not the problem. Therefore, I'd like to check the fuel pressure before replacing the pump.
I went to Autozone and with their Loan-A-Tool program, I brought this home: Autozone Fuel Pressure Test Kit
It should be an easy test, but I can't figure out how to hook the damn thing up to the line. There is a valve on my fuel line, but it doesn't seem to fit any of the adapters. The threads to screw something in are on the inside, and about 1/4-1/2 inch down.
I read somewhere that some models need a special adapter for a fuel pressure test. Is that true? Do I need that adapter for my engine?
If I do need the adapter, does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price online - or at least what the name of the adapter is?
Anything helps.
Thanks,
Tyler
