I bought one of those dealership dipsticks but i still dont understand how to get a reading on the level from that chart. What # on the stick would be indicative of a full fluid level ? Also the fluid itself looks really clean.

the chart measures temperature vs. level. You need to get a long thermocouple and a cheap electronic temperature gauge to go with it. Shrink tube the thermocouple to the dipstick and you can measure both at once. Use a mm ruler to measure the depth, don't rely on the embossed marks on the dipstick. Just because the fluid looks clean, doesn't mean its correct. I'd start there first

Finally got around to checking it. readings as follows:

1. Trans pan temp = 89.4
dipstick mark = 30mm
Engine temp = 182

2. Trans pan temp = 98.6
dipstick mark = 33mm
Engine temp = 197

3. Trans pan temp = 104
dipstick mark = 35mm
Engine temp = 212

Sooo from the #3 reading referencing the chart looks like im 5mm low on trans fluid, level should be at about 40mm?
What would be the amount of fluid to add per 5mm or 10mm on the dipstick ? Or just add fluid a little at a time and hope one doesnt add too much ?

its a pain....I overfilled the first attempt I made - luckily I had a dipstick oil sucker. Its the only sane way of doing it or you're in store for a drain & refill. Dribble it in 100ml at a time. I think you'll be in the 200ml area, but its ages since I last did mine, so I'm guessing really
