I don’t think it looks quite that bad as something deformed. The commercials on TV make it look pretty nice. I need to see one in person to really form an opinion….I guess my brain just needs to see all the angles in person to see how it flies. Please post what you think of it after your test drive. Enjoy!

Well it is a Durango basically; but to me it looks like they Improved on the Durango's butt ugly snout. I've seen one Aspen in person an it looked nice.

One came up behind me a few days ago and I first thought it was the next Chrysler minivan. Then I saw it 3/4 view and realized it was a deformed Durango.
Opinions only, since beauty is ITEOTB, but the Durango is a clean design that flows, and shows (to me) that a talented designer formed it from a clean sheet of paper (o.k., maybe in 3D cad software). The Aspen looked to me as something that was made from something else, and the designer was asked to put a Chrysler "face" on a Durango.

Chrysler designs are an enigma to me, however. Some are striking and show unique design with a signature all it's own (PT Cruiser, 300C, Charger, Viper, Crossfire) while others look to me to be uninspired (Aspen, Stratus, Pacifica).

The windshield looks like it is off of a minivan. From the side the front window passenger window and roof line look like they are off of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the back window looks like a Durango. The hatch looks like a cross between Durango & Jeep, the front end looks like a minivan.

I don't get it except for the fact that Chrysler wanted an SUV in its product line.

What surprises me is that I prefer the previous generations of most Chryslers. The original Viper was SO unique... WAY BAD. The new one is better, but has lost that individuality.
The last gen minivans were smooth and clean; they looked like a show car concept. The current designs look too blocky to me. Like they had to change the designs to make them new, even if they strayed away from the original designer's final "sculpture". Guilding the Lily.
Ditto Stratus. Durango. PT Cruiser.

The public likes to see change. Chrysler certainly knows that better than most, considering the radical change they made when replacing the "cab-forward" styles with the "chopped-top bricks" that we love.
Now THAT was a change for the better. And talk about successful!

It IS a Durango with a different front end on it. Just like a Navigator is a Ford Expedition and an Escalade is a Tahoe. But at least it looks way better than a durango

I think this hits it right on the nose. It like: we want an SUV, here's a small budget, so make one using the existing parts bin.

This is a $50,000 CDN vehicle, but even the guages look like it came out of the Dodge parts bin, and the centre stack clock looks tacked on. I haven't driven it, but it needs to be serious competition to the Tahoe/Denali if it will succeed. I'm afraid it is too little too late for this model.

And don't get me started on the name they chose.

With that big grill and the low bumpers, head on it does look like a Town and Country. Higher bumpers would give it a stronger presence, but lower bumpers are better in crashes with cars, so for safety's sake, I would not count that against DCX.
