I haven't seen this question/scenario posted here yet so I'm probably the only one with this problem....
My key fob stopped working and my driver's side door handle is completely broken. Of course the keyhole is only on the driver's side so I got locked out. Is there an unlocking sequence to unlock the other doors (ex: turning the key once unlocks driver's door; turning the key twice or more unlocks the rest of the car....)? Is there ANY other way to get inside the car in this situation? Or am I just screwed completely?....
First: You do not have the second key fob? Try it first if you do.
Second: Does the fob unlock the trunk? If so get into the car through the trunk and unlock the doors.
Third: Have you ever replaced the fob's battery? Might just need a new one. It's a CR2032, and should cost less than $10.
Fourth: Early model year key fobs were known to have faulty printed circuit boards with cold solder joints where the battery holding clip came free from the circuit board. Try squeezing the fob and the unlock button hard with your thumb. If that works get the cold solder joint repaired. I'd suggest a computer repair shop for this service.
Fifth: Call a stealership with your issue.
Sixth: Call a locksmith with your issue.
Seventh: Get a new door handle to avoid future issues.
