Uconnect Updates?

I have a 2017 300S with Uconnect. When I go to driveuconnect.com and enter my VIN I get a message that a new update is available. It is per TSB 08-007-17 Rec. C.

I called to find out what it does they cannot, or will not, explain what it does. Is there any way to find out what it does?

Why is Chrysler so secretive on TSB's and updates?

If it does nothing that effects me I don't want to update. I don't use a Smartphone and just have a simple cell phone.

Hi Bob,

This software update is currently only available for download at your local dealership, we are looking into why the driveuconnect link isn't working properly for customers. Here are more details regarding what the update addresses:

"NUMBER: 08-007-17 REV. C
GROUP: Electrical
DATE: May 12, 2017

SUBJECT:
UAS, UCQ, UDQ and UAQ Radio Enhancements

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience one or more of the following:
• Heated seats will not turn on from controls screen (Sales Code UAQ).
• Arabic translation issues (Sales Code UAQ).
• Radio resetting.
• Radio controls and or touchscreen freezing up or becomes inoperative.
• Rear view camera does not display on the screen (unless the screen is blue which indicates a poor camera connection).
• Applications not launching from the app screen.
• USB port will not play music from a USB flash drive.
• Inaccurate location of the vehicle on the navigation map.
• Paired phones will not connect via Bluetooth.
• Radio screen will not dim with the thumb wheel when adjusting the cluster brightness.
• Map screen does not return after rear view camera clears.
• Performance Control & Performance Page app not performing as expected.
• Bluetooth phone call audio too low (requires volume levels above 30 to be audible).
• Song information on radio screen doesn’t match the song playing.
• Navigation GPS says not available.
• Surround sound state not shown correctly.
• Responding to the Favorites notification does not go to that song.
• Compass not showing up.
• No sound or navigation when the radio is in customer mode.
• No SXM (Sirius XM) audio for channels 301 and above.
• When making an SOS call the display shows the vehicle phone has no service during a good signal strength (U.S. Market Only).
• Head unit displays “Connected Services Not Active” after successful enrollment (U.S. Market Only).
• In Vehicle Help (IVH) issue on app (U.S. Market Only).
• Assist calls not getting connected (U.S. Market Only).
Customers may also experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that the following DTC has been set:
• B1560-13 - Cellular Antenna-1 Circuit Open (Canadian Market Only Sales Code UCQ)."

Why does the site not have this info so a user can decide whether or not to download it?

It should be available on the site. I don't want to go to the dealer, get a rental car and wait all day.

I tried downloading it directly and it would not allow me. It went to some Akami installer which I don't want. I prefer to download it directly.

Please advise me when it is available for direct download.

One of the "advantages" of driving a 2011 model.... you can be certain there will be no further updates to the vehicle systems. Pretty much frozen in time, not to mention a one-off version of the 8.4N system.

There's an update for my 2013 online 08-004-17 so it's worth checking (https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/)

I have a question for Andrea - there are two updates on the system listed for my car but no guidance on whether these are for different systems or whether both files need to be used as part of one update - details:

Update 1: UCONNECT_8.4_RADIO_16.21.D7_MY13_JC_JF_LD_LX
Service Bulletin ID: 08-004-17
Release Date: 2017-01-11

Update 2: UCONNECT_8.4N_NAV_7.09_MY13-14_LDLX_NAFTA

Andrea see what DGO wrote. It is exactly what I am complaining about.

The site should be fixed to give more info on the updates, or give a link, so we can find out what the updates do.The site still won't let me download the update directly.

Bob. Just to ask the obvious but you did see that the direct download is hidden by clicking the work "here" in the middle of the wording on the sentence in the download:

Thanks I did click on the link but it directs me to a "File Not Found page error.

I just called Uconnect at 1-877-855-8400. The rep said that they were aware of the website problem and that they were looking into it. I asked them for a direct download link and they were not able to give one to me.

Hi Bob,

As I stated in my earlier post, at this time the update is only available for download at your local dealership. Our development team is looking into why the driveUconnect software link isn't working for customers but we do not have an ETA on when it will be fixed. I will provide any updates I receive on this thread!

Hi DGO,

Those are two updates packaged in the same TSB, one is for your Uconnect system's control head software and the other is for navigation (if equipped). Customers without the navigation feature on their vehicle would only see the top software update, I am assuming your vehicle has navigation since the bottom update is showing up for you. Let me know if you have any additional questions!
