More color confusion

I really don't want to be a bother, but here I am again with a color question. I think I'm getting confused between the Magnesium and the newer Silver Steel. I know one was 2005 and the other was 2006, but I still feel like I'm missing something. I was thinking the Magnesium was like a pewter color, but I've seen some pics that have a real dark emerald green hue mixed in. Can someone just tell me if these attached pictures are of magnesium. They are the same car in a little bit of a different light. To me it looks like a fairly even-toned gray, which I would like. I haven't seen the car in person, so I'm wondering if these are accurate representations of Magnesium, which it claims to be. I really don't want a green surprise! Thanks for any help!

The magnesium is a darker gray, like pewter. I don't know if its the candy of that color or what, but the magnesium seems to throw crazy reflections. The metal flake is especially bright on that color. The greens you're seeing are likely from something green reflecting off of it, or the white balance being off on a digital camera.

The "green" in the 300 series is Jade Green. Kind of like a soft sea foam green with metal flake.

Thumbs up 300C Magnesium Is Really A Chameleon Type of Color

Hey CcDubya, I struggled for 4 weeks trying to decide between a HE Red 300C and a Magnesium. The winner was "Maggie", and I am so glad. It has a real "chameleon" effect, that is, in daylight sunshine it has more of a bluish-green look, while on cloudy days or around sunset, it has more of a greenish-blue hue. I love it !
One thing that might help U decide is that "the chicks" just love the color. Anyway, there's my 2 cents worth. Good luck & enjoy your "C", no matter what color U get !

Magnesium is somewhat of a greenish hue. Satin Jade is a lighter pearlesent green color. Silver steel is basically grey with a little metallic in it.

The pic on the right looks defiantly like magnesium. The one on the left doesn't look like magnesium to me. More like silver steel. Are you positive the two pics are the same car? I own a magnesium and i would describe the color more like teal than grey.

To me this is one of the most “famous” of the Magnesium pictures that DCX put out in its original brochures. It seemed that you saw this picture all over the place. This was the original color I first wanted on my car. My dad has his C in this color. Better not let mom know that “chicks” dig this color.

My car is Magnesium Pearl; it definetly has a lot of green in it. In low light conditions (like the famous picutre Danno posted) it is not as obvious but it is a Green / Grey color. Here is a picture of my "C" in the sun, and one of the left rear (taken in my shop to show the sagging bumper repair). As you can see it absolute IS a green color. The Satin Jade is much much lighter.

As stated above, it's a very unique color. My first choice then Silver Steel.

The pic on the left looks like SS and the pic on the right looks like the MP. I think it all depends on the lighting and the angle.
