300c vs Dodge Neon SRT4

Driving along minding the speed limit, not looking for trouble and having a conversation with my son. I shake my head because I can't believe the car that has come up on my rear bumper so quick and is now knocking rudely on my back door with his brights shining . I maintain my speed limit and wait for him to gather impatience to pass me illegally on the right. Just as planned he pulls from behind me up along side of me. This is where the fun begins as him and his passenger try to sum my brilliant black C up. He's rolling and picking up speed around 60mph and looking to make a run for it. Being the nice guy that I am, I give him about 2 car lengths as he attempts to accelerate to a rolling victory. I check the evic and see my pedal position hasn't quite reached "kill his arse" quite yet. I coax my young lady into a few lower gears and the race is now becoming a "we are having fun event". My windows are rolled up and all you can hear is this horrible whining like the sound cats make when they are having sex . That poor Neon is struggling to keep it a race but we gladly blow past it and a decent speed. I can see the driver of the Neon isn't a happy camper as I gracefully pass him up. Being the nice guy that I am, after clearly establishing who's won this race---I slow down to around 65mph(70mph zone) to allow him to get a second chance, he backs off more and more. Now I'm doingto 60mph and he's no where near wanting to come close . So, I'm really upset because my car is roaring to go into action. The lane becomes one on a section of highway that is under construction. So I go the posted 55mph, and guess what??? NO BRIGHT lights in my rear window this time around . I turn into the air base entry and shut the lights down(DRL's came on thanks to the service dept and starscan). As I get to the gate and they are checking my ID card and tell me to have a nice evening----I ask the gate guard to tell the young man behind me in the Neon that "he needs another 100plus horsepower before knocking on my back door again...HEMI(hear-me?)?" The gate guard starts laughing and said "yes sir I will gladly tell that young man". I drove 25mph in a 35mph zone allowing adequate catch up time for this young man. Yet he drove even slower *sigh* I even turned into the shoppette parking lot hoping he'd follow me in but he kept going. I guess some people can't Hemi, when I'm moving oooohhhhh sooo fast...TY flashpaq

The Neon SRT4 are very quick and will keep up with you.
When I raced a SRT4 at the track, he was within milliseconds of the 1/4 mile.
I also saw a SRT4 at the track do 13.5 but he was modded.

Congratulations on a nice run with a SRT4. Those cars can have the quickness in them for sure. It’s too bad you didn’t get a chance to speak with the driver….who apparently was feeling humiliated. Perhaps he was planning on placing his order for his next stage set up.

Rionne...I was going onto Minot AFB.

ManWagn... I was driving in the left lane because I was doing the speed limit within the city limits. I figure I pay my taxes...right?

Nautca..on the open highway it didn't seem quite that fast although I've heard good writeups for the car along with the great price. Trust me, it was whining as it tried to display it's muscle. I was actually not pushing my BBC hard because she still only has about 5300 miles on her.

Str8danno...I was hoping to speak with him. Find out a bit more about his ride and peek under the hood. I didn't want to feel like I was chasing him down so I didn't follow him to his barracks. I figured if he stopped in the parking lot behind me, we'd have a good conversation.

Wow, get out of the left lane if you arent going as fast as the others. I seriously hate when people like you will sit in the left lane, only to speed up and be a <edited by Admin> about it when you try to pass. I just floor it and cut those people off.

You sound like one of these people!

Left Lane Vigilante — An automobile driver who believes so strongly in speed limit highway laws that he or she will drive 55 miles per hour in the passing lane, forcing people to either adhere to the speed limit or to pass on the right. Left Lane Vigilantes never use their rear view mirror, so tailgate intimidation or flashing the high beams is of no use. These are people committed to keeping you from getting a speeding ticket, and they will do whatever they have to to keep you behind them.

First I'd like to congratulate you on a nice kill,......BUT, I'd have to agree with ManWagn,Lukeinva and SpittinGame. Why,why, why in the left lane. The left lane is for passing, it is that for a reason. It is safer to pass in the left than the right. You might think that you are the safer driver outthere driving the limit, but your actually causing a log jam and cars to weave. I think I'm going to have to get my PINK paint brush out, anyone have a daisy for his dash?
