Bring the 300C CRD to North America

Hi Guys!!

IF I were running things over at DC - I'd bring the 300C CRD to North America toot-sweet!! lol I think it would be surprisingly successful. No guts - no glory - I say. [OK - maybe someone else said it before me - but it 'fits']

Click on THIS to see a small Google video showing the 300C CRD accelerating. [It's mute for the first few seconds - so please be patient]

And then click on THIS to read a ROAD TEST of the 300C CRD from an Irish website.

What do YOU think?!

Craig!!

You must be Murphy the Cat’s Canadian twin as the CRD is definitely his baby to tout. We have read many stories of MTC’s adventures with Arnie, (his CRD) In fact MTC is in Florida as we speak. There are many of us more than willing to take a CRD for a road test to see what all the hoopla is all about. MTC wouldn’t bring Arnie with him for some reason.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and those links!

I'd trade my Hemi in on one. I mean its a turbo...look what the truck guys can get for additional power out of their turbo diesels..with simple bolt-ons. I would think it would not take long for the aftermarket to have a bolt on controller that added a 100hp and 200ftlbs tq. Will have to try out the Jeep to see if this powerplant is all that they're saying it is.

Hi srt8danno!!

Thanks for all of the links!! I guess 'Murphy the Cat' and I would both really appreciate a high torque - good fuel economy - luxury car.

Hi Chase300!!

I agree. And it will indeed be interesting to see if the new MB Diesel in the Jeep Grand Cherokee lives up to all the hype. Chrysler and MB both have pretty good reputations diesel wise -though. Chrysler with the Cummins and Mercedes with - well - one of their own.

Craig!!

I’m always digging around in the archives. You would be surprised what you can turn up. I have a vague idea where a lot of stuff is located, but sometimes it can be hard to find…..but I know its there so I won’t give up. Thanks for noticing! Just trying to help.

You are going to love the Information i have for you guys. I went to one of my real good friends houses to have dinner and his uncle is a very high man in Daimler/Chrysler and i asked him a bunch of questions. He told me that they are bringing the 300 CRD to the U.S. Next Year!!!!

I also asked him about the Imperial and he said he didn't have a solid answer on that one yet.

Also consider........ Install the Diesel Tuning Spider chip upgrade, and you get 270bhp, 660N/m torque, 0 - 60 in approx 6 secs, and an overall of at least 35mpg. Even the North Americans would be impressed with this i think!!!

Hi Farns514!!

I hope your friend's uncle is telling no lies!! I think the 300C CRD would be a HUGE success in North America. And while we're waiting for it - 'we' can see just how well that engine works out in the Grand Cherokee. [It would be the same engine - right?!] Putting a diesel in a car that people ALREADY like is a smart way to re-introduce the diesel engine to mainstream America. And it would give the Chrysler Group yet another advantage.

Craig!!

Oh it's a very good source, he is not lying and was telling me about many things. I am pretty sure he said they are going to be using the engine they are using the same diesel engine. He was stoked about they were going to produce it in the U.S. saying that it will greatly help the market. He also said that they would probably use a diesel engine too in the imperial if they produce it.
