AWD Launch

bein readin up on some posts about how everyone is launching their C, but it seems to be more centered around the RWD C. I would like to know how you AWD guys are launchin, or at least point me in the direction of a good thread.

what i have been doin is mashin the brake pedal down and revin it up to 2k (wont go any higher) then let off the brake and mash the pedal. when i would race the gt mustang i would get a very good jump off the line. but im wondering if there is somethin else i should be doin or tryin?

That's what I do, but also disengage the ESP, This Sat. at the track I might try a higher RPM, but don't want to brake my shaft.

Here are a few threads that discuss AWD and launches. Some of them were started by RWD owners, but AWD owners contributed. There is a fairly recent thread by Midnightsun on his first visit to the track in his AWD. I hope you’re able to find something to shed some light on your lauches. Good luck!

launch

How much power can AWD system handle ?

Went to the track for the first time...

Kill!!! Beat a C-SRT8 with my AWD C!!

AWD 300C Owners... Can you turn AWD off?

mistake--mistake

Feel of C RWD VS AWD

<B>Picked up a AWD this week. Drove 500 Miles in floods, mud and hail <B>

"RWD VS AWD" IS AWD SLOWER THAN THE RWD 300C. sorry about the caps

And Big Bob take care of your shaft.....no one wants to see you with a broken shaft!

phillips2024...I have had consistently better launches if I just break the 2nd staging light (can't remember if that is deep or shallow); keep just enough brake to hold the car; take the first 1/2" of slop out of the accelerator but do not rev past normal idle; stomp the accelerator at your preferred light position on the tree. We AWD'rs do not pay the price the 2WD'rs do with wheel spin. I have found that if you power brake/torque with the AWD HAL makes you pay! My times were consistently .1 of a second slower in 60' using the power/torque technique.
