Looks to be a base charger with the HEMI (non R/T), and probably a cost saving measure on the base units. R/T package would likely have the color keyed side panels.

So basically, there's no more direct electrical linkage from the ignition switch to the starter motor, aka "start by wire".

It's probably what all push button start systems use; the next step in improvement from just preventing the starter motor from turning if the engine is already running.

FYI, there is also a picture of the new remote that confirms the earlier posting of the key which looks like the Mercedes transponder keys on the Dodge Grand Caravan site.
Exactly, the Crossfire has had this since it's debut in 2004. Stick in the key, twist to the right and let go. Starts all by itself. Pretty cool feature, screws me up going from the 2004 Crossfire to the 2006 300C though!

Mr MoPar
Yeah, Mercedes has had that for a while.

Heck, even my Pontiac G6 GTP (sweet mama Jesus, was that terrible) had that sort of ignition.

Resume Speed,
My dealership told me you can only get the all black interior with the suede inserts in the seats on a SRT Design Group 300C and the SRT8? Is this correct? Can I get that interior on a plain 300C?

Thanks

They are correct. The SRT design package includes "perforated" suede seats while the SRT models include "preferred suede" seats. Suede is not offered on any other models. The Dark Slate interior is available on the standard 300C, but only with the non-suede leather seats.
