So why do they need a greater data bandwidth for the radio? Is it for improved sound quality, more surround-sound channels, GPS/Nav use, the rear camera, what? It's a major change, it's probably rather important.

Other than that the changes are trivial as they should be imho. These are great cars and there's no big need to tinker at this time.

We may not know until one actually hits a dealer lot. I have looked everywhere for the answer to this question and so far no luck.

The updated bus system offers data transfer improvements for many interior components so was not designed specifically for the new nav radio. Another new feature for '08 is Sirius Satellite streaming which may have been another reason for the change.

Note that what is listed so far is just a partial list of what's coming for 2008, although what I have revealed so far comprises most of the major feature changes. I will be adding more to the list in the months ahead. I'm not sure what interior/exterior design improvements or changes that are planned, if any. The 300 is in its 4th year of a 5 or 6 year run so they are not going to get too carried away but overall the changes will be worthwhile and noticeable.

I looked into the trunk of a 2007 Charger R/T with the 20 inch Goodyear RSA tires and it did have a spare. I would guess the SRT design car will also have the spare.

Depends on if the car has regular brakes or the bigger brembos - which the spare apparently can't fit over.

those "bigger brembos" only come on SRT cars - so a non SRT car with the SRT Design Group or the Dodge Road/Track option has regular brakes.

I hope the face lifted 2008 SRT8 gets paddle shifters and the new 392 HEMI (6.4 liters) with 500 HP along with a 21 gallon gas tank.

thanks but darn! you just ruined my 2008 car purchase. Perhaps the paddle shifters! Maybe the rest of the facelift will excite me.
