License Plate Questions

Do I really have to put my plates on my car? = ( They just came and they look ugly IMO ...... I live in California .... also my buddie in Arizon got a custom plate that reads "BLK300C" what do you guys think of the plate? plain? thanks

I say F**K plates all together... They really take away from the appearance of the car, california isnt to bad (live in so cal) but it still kills me... But i am picky and dont care... This is how I drive around all the time, no plate in front and the F.T.H in the rear... I used to get pulled over all the time for tint and stuff and now that i have no plate i havent got hassled, i think cops think it is some sort of dealer plate or something... Who knows?

Not only have you done away with windshield wipers you’ve also done away with license plates….a man living on the edge. If you do get stopped don’t they just tell you to put it on or do they actually fine you? Good luck!

No fines... I carry both plates one me and zip ties just in case they hassle about the front one. I have yet to get pulled over but a buddy of mine does it and he got pulled over and all they did was tell him to put it on and to have a nice day... I live in the desert so i think the cops are more worried about the meth labs more then anything... HAHA!!!

Ca. Vehicle Code:
5200. (a) When two license plates are issued by the department for
use upon a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which
they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

5201. License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the
vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from
swinging, shall be mounted in a position so as to be clearly visible,
and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible.
The rear license plate shall be mounted not less than 12 inches nor
more than 60 inches from the ground, and the front license plate
shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground.

The above is the "Letter Of The Law," you are in violation and can receive a citation. With the "Spirit Of The Law," the officer will probably give you a warning. I have a 300C and a Cad CTS, neither one have front plates. However when I go to locations where I could get cited I put them on with a custom plate holder I carry in the trunk. If you are cited it's a "Fix It" ticket and approx: $25-$40 fine.

I havent had plates on my C yet and iv had it for a year If you get caught its a 10 dollar fix it and you can extend it online for 5 months
