IF they had a different name - would it have made a difference?!

Hi Guys!!

Some have said that the 300C really should have been the 300N. And some have said that the V6 versions should have been called something else. [New Yorker, Newport, something]

First off.... what's your opinion on this?!

AND then - IF the names of the Chrysler LX's were different - would it have effected sales much?! [If at all?!] Would those of you who bought a V6 300 - still have bought your car IF it was called the 'New Yorker'?! [Or whatever]

And would those of you who bought a 300C - would it have made any difference at all if it was called the 300N?!

Part of me can't help but think that the 300C SRT8 should have just been the 300N. And all of the other 300's be called the 'New Yorker'. [In both V6 and V8 versions]

What do you think!?

Craig!!

I am glad they called it a 300 . Restoring what was historically a great name . I think we all represent the 300 proudly...whether you are driving a base , touring , C or an SRT ...........you are repping the name brand . As for my SRT-8...........would have bought it if it was called just about anything!!!! My vote ...glad they called it what they did....and all of them , but would have bought one irregardless of name . I hope that answers your questions CC.......now about those taxes...... -Mike .

I would have gotten the HEMI no matter what

I had the 300M when it came out in 1999. It had the 3.5L V6. I liked the styling and the zip was there for a 6 cylinder.

300N would have made chronological sense, but I think they were thinking of the 50th anniversary of the original C300 (1955) when they came up with it-Sort of like a resurrection, perhaps. Only my theory.

they could have called my 300C "the short bus" ..and I would have still purchased it along with the complimentary drool bib and helmet, to be used by those who'd be banging their heads for not having one and drooling all over themselves as I showed them what "GOT HEMI" really meant lol

Let see...300 Lx is using the E-Class platform and latter or next gen will be using the LY platform [hint: Nassau = 300 D].

The New Yorker will reside on the S class platform, along with the Imperial if they were to build it, which I highly doubt it.

The current 300 C is a car that will always turn the heads of those who passionately love cars.

My 350Z has a 3.5L engine.

Perhaps my 300C should be called a 570C

Now I like that as long as it's not interpreted as horsepower and not engine size
