Hmmm....things are getting interesting. I just may have to trade mine in when that 6.4L Hemi becomes available. Any information about the SRT8 transmission of our future? I really hope SRT can come up with something much better than the current one, especially with the programming.

From what I see so far, the WA-580 will continue, at least in the Jeep which probably means the LX SRT models as well. As the engineers would say, "we are always working on programming improvements". Chrysler is working on an 8-speed auto, but that may not be out until the 2012 model year, and most likely for non-SRT luxury models.

Make no mistake, our trannies are great. The programming leaves some things to be desired, but I think they made it that way so you can put put put and the wife wont complain, and then it can still do the whole muscle car thing. I wouldn't expect much to change in the future from team SRT about this.
I'll tell you what though, the Predator sure cleans things up and takes most of the annoying characteristics away. Not to mention the added power I highly recommend it!
A 6.4 HEMI, I'd much rather have the variable cam timing than the MDS, but would settle for both too... If they build it, I will come

This is just like us (here @ Apple SW engineering)... It makes me mad really.
We (like chrysler) could go ahead and release the Apple Iphone 5. Yet, we wait. And every year/two years will release just a little bit more improvements. Then a little bit more. All the while we are actually working on the Iphone 7. The end consumer thinks they're getting the latest and greatest. When in retrospect. There is some geek, some where with the true latest and greatest. We just define it as "beta testing". lol
I want the 2012 300C now please. ResumeSpeed/Rambit/Bruno, whom shall I call for that? I know you know. And make mine the 12speed automatic please.
Rambit or Bruno can we now get a 2010 and a 2011 thead as a sticky is there some sticky nazi's that says no more stickies or what we been asking for a 2010 sticky since 2007 now we got 2011 info so can a mod add 2 just 2 stickies thanks and RS Rambit or Bruno what the word on the new 300c or what ever letter coming with the two mode hybrid. i know its in the works but is it 2010 or 2011 it was suppose to come with the new launch of the redesign but i have heard nothing.

Sorry man, but as you know RS is the go to guy on this. When information becomes available it's more appropriate that he start a new thread. I have no problem making it a sticky when that happens.
As in past years RS has always started new model information as it becomes available. I'm confident that will happen again. He's not in the rumour business, but as soon as CONCRETE information comes out we'll all be the first to know.

Yes, the programming is the big problem, but 5 speeds isn't competitive in this segment anymore either. Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes, and many others have 6+ speed transmissions. The 5 speed of yesterday was special, but not anymore. We shouldn't need to get an aftermarket programmer to fix the problems Chrysler should have solved long before this car went into production. I understand they did some of the things for durability and fuel economy, but they could have done better. The inconsitent quirks of SRT8 transmission are driving me crazy.

You are preaching to the choir brother
Those trannies with more cogs are either weaker and break or are way more expensive. We drive Chryslers...and while you shouldn't have to buy a programmer to make it better...at least you can, and it's really not a lot of money for what it can do. Could they have done better?

If the 5-speed is so outdated why do the following extremely expensive vehicles still use it?
