2009 Chrysler 300 Series (LX)
Production startup (unless otherwise noted): late July 2008
2.7L (300 LX only)
3.5L (300 Touring and Limited only)
5.7L (NEW 370hp MDS "Eagle" engine with Variable Camshaft Timing, 300C only)
6.1L 425 hp (SRT8 only)
New 300 series features:
EXTERIOR
• Backlite antenna reinstated in rear window replaces mast antenna
• New paint: Deep Water Blue Pearl
• Discontinued paint: Steel Blue Metallic
INTERIOR
• Air filtration standard on all Chrysler models
• Automatic headlamps and Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) standard on 300 Touring
• California walnut interior accents standard on 300 Limited
• Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) automatically informs driver when using fuel-saving multi-displacement system MDS by flashing “ECO” message (300C)
• Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) automatically informs driver when vehicle goes into AWD mode
• Internet Wi-Fi (optional Mopar accessory)
• iPod - built-in interface on selected radios
• LED map pocket lighting standard on 300 Limited and 300C
• New LED illuminated front cup holder rings standard on all Chrysler models
• New chrome I/P trim rings on 300 Touring
• MyGIG® Entertainment System (without navigation) standard on 300 Limited, 300C and 300C SRT8
• New front seat headrests on 300C SRT8 (change made for U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard FMVSS) tilts headrest forward
• Normal cruise control mode added to Adaptive Speed Control
• Rear Seat Video™ System no longer optional with Limited
• Refined trunk area includes standard trunk scuff plate, decklid liner, grocery bag hooks and cargo net
• Reversible trunk mat standard on Chrysler 300 Limited and 300C (not available on SRT8)
• Sound Group no longer optional with Touring
• Speed control standard on 300C SRT8
• Tire Pressure Monitor warning message appears as “LO TIRE” in digital odometer (vehicles without EVIC)
• Wood/leather-wrapped steering wheel standard on 300 Limited
POWERTRAIN/CHASSIS
• AWD vehicles equipped with new active transfer case to maximize performance and fuel economy
• Comfort tuned suspension on 300 Limited and 300C with 18-inch wheels (de-tuned for more comfortable ride)
• Sunroof standard on 300C SRT8
• 300C Heritage Model includes the following new equipment for 2009 MY in addition to carry-over equipment from 2008:
– 20-inch chrome wheels (Mopar®)
– 245/45R20 A/S Performance tires (2008 SRT Design package)
– Performance suspension
– Grille, front fascia (different finish)
– “Heritage” fender badge placed on left and right side
– “Heritage” badge on front seats

• New ABS and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) calibrations
• New suspension tuning involving the knuckle, shock valve and ESP calibrations
• Improved fuel economy results in a lower gas guzzler tax

Anybody venture to guess when the 300 will see a full redesign. 2010 I would guess w/ the release date being sometime in '09. Car designs typically last 5 years right?
I think the 0.0L engines are going to be totally awesome! It’s about time they put some umph into their line up.
Imagine the gas savings!

Hey Danno, my "sources" are usually pretty reliable and the latest word I hear is that you are most likely going to trade-in your SRT8 later on next year, can this possibly be true?
