iPod adapter coming in March

ALL YOU iPOD OWNERS!!! I was talking to John the support rep from Peripheral http://www.aampofamerica.com/web/home.asp
they are coming up with an iPod adapter to fit into the rear of the 300 units both Navigation and stock radio. (it's about time!)
It should be here in March they said. If you have any questions, contact them at 800-477-226 ask for John.
I thought it might be easier to tap into the amp in the SGII? I dont know to much about these kind of electronics though.

kid,

I've been keeping my ears to the street for this mod.

Peripheral and monster's iCruze for our cars should both be out soon.

I'm still trying to get info on which would be the better unit.

does anyone know whether you lose functionality of your disc changer with the icruze since you use the disc changer input for the ipod?

This is exactly the problem with the 2005 Chrysler units. A built in changer. Folks I believe this is the same optimism we've been seeing since 2004. I've had both the standard radio and the NAV and have studied every possible way to tap in to get an input. The unit has to be modified in some way internally, or these manufacturers will have to tap into the Satellite Radio Interface in combination with the CANBUS.

All these iPod adapters out there rely on external trunk changers, not indash in unit ones. While its good to be optimistic, I take these e-mails and phone calls from these companies with a grain of salt. "Soon" they said in July 2004. Blitzsafe told me in August 2004 "We have a NAV unit and are in testing"

I don't see any plug and play devices coming soon, nor do I see anything that allows us to control the iPod. Ask any reputable car audio shop to make some calls for you. Chain audio shops will tell you "Oh yeah no problem, we can do that," because they have no freaking idea what they are dealing with yet. A reputable car audio shop will have contacts at PIE, PAC and Blitzsafe. Its a major part of their industry.

The proof is in the pudding, I won't believe it until a unit is for sale. Talk is cheap.
