You guys are great!

I just wanted to say that the people on this forum are a great wealth of information, and I must admit some of the answers that you guys provide makes me feel like I know nothing about cars, but it's good to know that someone who does isn't too far away...just wanted to say thanks

I have been on here a month now but I have come to some definite conclusions. Firstly, some of the people here are the kindest I have ever seen on an internet forum. You all genuinely care about eachother. The outpouring for Wes when he was in the hospital was incredible and I think that speaks tons about the good hearted nature of all of you. Next, the information on this site is second to none. Not only is it a resourse for 300 owners, but for manufacturers as well. This is a direct reflection of the knowlede of the members and the quality of their information. Thanks to all that came before me for all the hard work. I would have been lost without you guys. I look forward to many posts, more information and new friends. And as for my car, my dealer called me today and said my car is in so I will pick it up tomorrow. I can't wait. Thanks again.

Well, I wish I could have picked it up today but I sort of have a special situation. On May 23rd of last year, me and 7 other of my fellow Las Vegas Firefighters were riding ATV's in Utah. To make a long story short, I crashed and am now a T3 parapelegic. I couldn't go yesterday cause I have to have someone with me to help me get back once I get down there cause I need hand controls and they aren't in the C yet. And yes, I can't stand (no pun intended) knowing that my car is sitting there instead of in my driveway. So close, yet so far.

vegas, I'm sorry to hear about your accident. You sound like you have a sense of humor about your disability... that's half the battle. My brother has some paralysis from a motorcyle accident over 20 yrs ago, but he too can drive. Despite the hurdles, stem cell research looks promising and I pray that more minds will open to it.

I think the 300 will be the perfect car for you!! God bless you...

Vegas

You'll love the car. Is your needed controls for the car supplied by Chrysler or an after market thing. I'd like to say good luck but you sound like a very positive person who will succeed no matter what.

Yes, I am very positive about the whole thing. I am just happy to be alive and be here to spend time with my wife and 3 year old daughter. I've come to the conclusion that their is always someone worse off than you. Two days after I came home from the hospital, one of our engines roller over responding to a fire. The captain, one of my friends, became a quadrapelegic. Compared to him, I am fine. It sort of puts things in perspective. I was pleased to learn that Chrysler had an adaptive program that would reimburse you up to $1000 for modifications on your vehicle. I called them to cormifm and was disappointed to learn that the discount doesn't apply if you purchase a 300c, crossfire, srt8 (any of the cool vehicles). So does that mean just cause I'm disabled, I have to drive a minivan. They said I could purchase my hand controls then submit it for reimbursement. They cost about $800 and thats a good amount of money to be out of pocket. Oh well, no big deal. I just don't understand why the restrictions. Im also excited about my new personal license plate. MNOFSTL(man of steel), both the Christopher Reeves reference and the fact that part of my spine is mad of steel. Look for me in Vegas and on the road visiting my family in San Diego and Pasadena. I'll problably just be a blur though.
