Power window problem

I've been having problems with my power windows ever since I've had this car it seems. Sometimes they won't roll up, sometimes they won't go down, sometimes both. Most of the time its the drivers side, but happens to passenger side as well. Some days it work, some days it doesn't. What the heck is going on?

hmm...

My advice... disconnect and then reconnect the car battery. My mate had a similar problem on his ford XR6, and did that, and it worked... Apparently, by doing that the electronic systems restart.

If it doesnt work after that, see your dealer...

Sorry you’re having troubles with your windows not working. I did look around and find this post from someone reporting similar problems. Hope this helps and good luck! Be sure to let us know what you find out if you do take it in to your dealership.

My car has less than 1800 miles and the one touch up feature on my driver's door doesn't work. I thought the window tinters might have done something to it, but I'm not sure now. I have an appointment to have it looked at this weekend. Will keep you guys apprised to status.

Recalibration procedure

Have you tried the recal procedure? This is a carryover problem/feature from Mercedes parts that have the same issue. It can occur if you pull the #11 fuse a lot, usually after each time that is done. Other things cause the recal to be lost.

1) Roll window down and hold switch down all the way for 2 seconds.
2) Raise window and hold switch all the way up for 2 seconds.
3) Test. Auto up/down should now be OK.

Repeat for the other window.

Wala!!! Now, why doesn't the dealer know about this?? I had an appointment to drop my car off this weekend and everything. Problem remedied in less than 20 seconds.

Thanks so much, Roadwing1...
