Another Threat to the LX in 2007?

2007 CTS from Cadillac.

New 300hp dohc V6 with direct injection (fuel is injected directed into combustion chamber just like a diesel); direct injection is the best way to make power from fuel injection, beats port injection hands down.

Curb weight on the new Caddy is in the 3500 to 3600 lb range.

Now, if DCX would build a 5.7 liter V8 with an aluminum engine block to go along with its aluminum heads and plastic intake, add variable valve timing just like they're doing for the 2008 Viper SRT10 to increase its upper rpm range, and add direct injection. Who would need forced induction, NOS, or a 6.1 liter then?
