Mitsubishi Eclipse vs. 300C

Yeah I know easy win right? snore fest...

On my way to work I pulled up to a light in the center of 3 lanes. The Eclipse (not the newest body style, but the one right before it) was in the left lane. I knew I could beat him off the line to the left turn lane at the next light... BUT... it had snowed the day before and the streets were still pretty slick. So what do I do? Yes you guessed it, reached over and deactived that pesky ESP. I figured he was gonna be a cautious driver because of the slick roads but sure enough he decided to go for it. Now being a veteran driver of many winters in the heart of Hoosier country (that's Indiana for those that don't know it) I can hold my own on the snow and ice unlike these yahoos out here in VA. Being a bit surprised I decided to go for it and hit the gas down about 75% the wheels were spinning like crazy and the back end was getting a little squirrley on me but I kept her straight. Still spinning the tires at about 45 I finally had enough room to grab some traction and get over.

I could tell he was bitter, because he pulled up to about an inch behind my bumper and gave me the death glare through the mirrors, lol.

Hey, not a great kill, but he wouldn't have had a chance if the roads weren't a little slick

Are you talking about the 3rd gen Eclipse? Those cars completely suck! Mitsubishi ruined the Eclipse after the 2nd gen.

the 98 aint a turbo. it was basically a rattler i traded my old race dirtbike for. its in the shop now.. i reupholstered the whole interior and now its in the shop gettin the motorwork done. i need to get rid of it cause its just a waste of money now. i got it as a weekday driver to keep from having to put gas in my truck, and now i have the 300 its useless. my sisters will run aight. its the gt v6 with the manumatic gearbox.. not bad for a 15 year old.. haha.

heres some pics just for your viewing pleasure.
my sisters car

my eclipse

my dodge.

I bought a new one of the first 2 generation Eclipse, a 95' GSX. Let me tell you that little car ran very well and surprised many cars that thought they should have beat it.

My best race with the GSX was with a new (back in 96') Impalla SS...all black with dark tinted windows. We were stopped at a light and when it turned green we were off with the Chevy a half car ahead untill I hit 3rd gear and said bye bye. I can still remeber that race like it was yesterday maybe because at that time the SS's where supposed to be bad a** with the Vette motor and all.

I also had a 91 Eagle Talon TSi AWD that I traded in for the Mitsu that was a fun little ride also.

I think the GSX would have gave my C a good race for sure with the C getting the nod

Be careful of the little eclipses and talons. Your car wouldn't beat my 95 talon, neither would my 300c nor any of the srts (unless they are in the 10's.) with little effort those 1st and 2nd gens can get into the 13's and 12's. I agree that the 2000 and up eclipses are nothing but the 89-99 eclipses taons and lasers could suprise you.

Naw, they ruined it after the 1st gen. Those cars had the most potential right from the factory...with very little mods they would run in the 12's.
