Question: New Six Speed Auto in 300C?

I just recently saw the new commercial for the Dodge Avenger and it states that it is available with a 6 speed auto-stick. I checked out the dodge website and its matted to the 3.5 liter in the RT trim. Is this tranny making its way to the 300C or SRT line? I checked ResumeSpeeds future changes and didn't see it mentioned. Anyone know anything about it? Didn't make it into the Sebring...which I thought was the Avengers Chrysler brother?

It's next to impossible since the Avenger/Sebring are front wheel drive.

They might, however, develop a 6 speed auto for the LX platform someday.

Well Mercedes already has a 7 speed automatic in some models so IF Chrysler stays part of "DaimlerChrysler" I would expect it to eventually be used in Chrysler's top cars, but probably not until Mercedes has something "new and improved" for its more expensive cars. That's just my guess of course since the current LX cars use a ton of previous generation Benz parts and designs.

but vvv90 is right, the Avenger is WRONG wheel drive so that transmission cannot be used. Another thing is that with adequate torque (such as the hemi's in a 300c) there is less of a need for more gears in the transmission.
