Little Holes in front of headlights?

Ive always assumed these were to squirt wiper fluid onto my headlights?? but i have no idea how to do it

push the windshield wiper stalk as if you were spraying fluid on your windshield.....the key...your lights need to be on.

they will spray on the first spray, and then on every fourth spray while the lights are on.

and they squirt onto the headlights? i suppose i could have been using it all along, and never noticed obviously because im in the drivers seat, but i remember one time i had a friend do it for me while i looked outside the car, and they didnt squirt.


I would assume i didnt have my lights turned on and thats why. Thanks.
