Well today we are in Amarillo and lucky to be hear. Going through Oklahoma. in a construction zone on I-44 a bus in front of use. Swerved to miss one of the plastic drums and when he went passed it the drum got sucked in behind him. And right in front of me I did a quick swerve to the left. When I did there was a space between the the road that I was on and the one that was merging with it. When I went through a pile of 1/2 to 3/4 inch stones. I bottomed out it sound like the exhaust pipe got pulled apart. At this time I was 285 miles from our destination of Amarillo. The car was driving OK but was making strange noises and when we would hit hard bumps it sounded like the pipe was hitting the floor pan. I owe ZMagnum from LXForum a big thank you I called him and told him what was going on. I asked him if he would fine me a Chrysler dealer in Amarillo. And he did G.Messner Chrysler and told them what happen. They said that they would take care of me when we got there. When we purled in they were waiting for use. Put the car up on the lift to see what was wrong. Well for one the new front belly pan is shot. Have a dent in the transmission pan and the cross member has some dents to.The right exhaust down pipe has a dent in it the trans support beam has some damage to it .Well after getting all of the stones from on top of the cross members and the heat shields. The noise went away. Real nice people and they did not charge me. We are off to Albuquerque,NM tomorrow wish use luck.
So how was your day.
Wow, what a wild and crazy day you had! Glad to hear nothing MAJOR was wrong! It coulda been much worse! Super glad the dealership didn't charge you! Make sure you post the name of the dealership so others know that good dealerships do still exist.
Glad you made it TX in one piece. G'luck getting the rest of the way!
