Re-attaching 300/Hemi side badges

After removign teh side moldings, I pulled the 300c/hemi badge off the smallest molding. I want to re-attach it, but the top part of the badge is inset about 1/4" where the molding used to run behind it.

Has anyone reattached this? What's the best way? Does that make any frickin sense at all??

I tried filling that space by tripling the 3M tape but there is way too much showing that way.

This will probably get nominated for stupidest post ever, but I'm hoping at least one person will understand. Thanks

2 ways i can think of to do this.

1. not sure if it will work, but try shaving down the back so it is even.

2. use the stock style rear emblem, and if you dont like the 300 on top being on the fender, cut that off and just touch up the chroming with some chrome paint.

those would be my best suggestion, thought of doing this myself, but i think if I remove the molding i would prefer the clean fender look
