Thumbs up Road Trip Stats

This has been hashed out again and again, but for any visitors or would-be buyers of 300, 300C here are some stats from my most recent road trip.
Total miles 1693.4
Total average MPG 26.3
Average speed 61.4 MPH

By the last time I put gas in the car, it said 450 miles to empty! I defy anyone with a car this powerful, large, comfortable, fast and feature packed to match those economy numbers. I just kept smiling going through the alleghany mountains having the cruise set at 73 MPH the car NEVER downshifting to find more power. Climbing hills in overdrive, fully loaded and getting 26 MPH.

I am constantly impressed by this car. And I have nearly 20,000 miles on it now!

20K!?! wow that's great. Do you get the feeling that this car was built to last, and do you intend on keeping it for a while?

Recent trip from So Cal to Phoenix for me:

340 miles
18.8 MPG
Average Speed 81.9 MPH

What a car!

The car cruises so nice at higher speeds. I can not imagine setting the cruise control lower to get the high 20's MPG. Gas is cheap

Thanks for your road trip report, Lwood. That says it all.

LWOOD,

How are you obtaining a figure for your "average speed = 61.4"?

Is this something you are "guesstimating" or are you viewing this within the EVIC?

LWOOD, thanks for posting the info. We have very restrictive speed limits here in Australia which are excessively policed. I can see myself getting similar stats to yours, maybe even better because we don't have the mountainous terrain that you had to navigate.
