Exclamation "CCC" - Stop The Insanity!!!!!

CCC - "Center Console Creaks"
(Sorry for you old-timers who were rushing in to defend the honor of Credence Clearwater Revival.)

Back on topic.

I am having an issue due to the fact that I am of a *ahem* larger stature, whereas my right hip is pressing the right seatbelt receptacle up against the ALL-PLASTIC Center Console and thus, causing a repetitive, irritating "creaking" sound whilst I am driving - ALL THE DAMN TIME!!!!!! *ahem*

Hence the malady - "CCC" - Center Console Creaks.

This is why I am here. Other that losing a BUTT-load (pun intended) of weight, thereby reducing the pressure placed against the right seatbelt receptacle, HOW can I make the creaking STOP!?!? Please??? Help??? Oh the HUMANITY!!!!! Stop The Insanity!!!

In all seriousness though, I was thinking of possibly "covering" the seatbelt receptacle in a sheath (leather) of some sort. (Aspendog - we need you!) OR possibly attaching something to either the side of the console or the seatbelt receptacle itself (felt, carpet, etc.)

The plastic against plastic is causing the creaking and it IS very hard to avoid, especially if you are *ahem* wider like myself. Seems DC could have done something different in this area to reduce the two pieces (console & receptacle) being so close to one another.

People??

JFF

(Please...NO fat jokes)

I was "do -do -do - lookin' out my back door" when, in a moment of unusual clarity, the solution to your CCC problem came to me in a flash.

JFF - one word - S E M T E X.

Less than half a kilo will do just fine. Get rid of that pesky CC. Open up a hole new vista in drivin' comfort and vision.

Hope this helps.

Go To The Store And Buy A Nice Plush Towel
Matching The Interior Of Course
Slide It Between The Seat Belt And The Console
Before It Rubs To Much And Ends Up Causing Damage

Thats The Only Thing I Can Think Of

OK, seriously now. JFF, some cars have the receptacle on a thin stalk. this brings the female receptor higher and also allows you to swing the stalk to a comfortable position.

Perhaps a retrofit from from a wreck? The specs on the belts are mandated so they are all similar. all of the receptacles bolt to the floor. Should be doable.
