Problem with auto-tilt side mirrors?

This is a re-post from LX forums, but I figured someone here might have seen the same problem.....

Has anyone had a problem with the auto-adjust side mirrors not resetting back to the correct position?

They tilt down correctly in reverse, but when I shift back to drive, they don't come back up all the way to the original angle. They do tilt back up, but they will point a tad lower than where they started from.

Is there some adjustment or re-calibration procedure? Well something other than just bumping them back up manually or turning the function off (I just felt a smart-a$$ answer coming)?

Thanks!

Allen

I've noticed this... if you pay attention your seat and steering wheel probably don't go to the right spot either (if you have it set to slide back on exit). About once a month I just get in the car and hit the memory button and all is well for a few more weeks. I think every time it adjusts it misses going back to where it was by a little bit, after a while it adds up and you start noticing.

You aren’t alone with the problem and Mr. I’s suggestion seems to fix the problem.

New Problem - Side mirror fails to return to normal after reverse

The seat/steering wheel position seems to be fine, but it is still a new car (only 1400 miles to date). The only nuisance I've noticed like this is the mirrors so far....

Just for my own info, isn't the CCN and it's SW what drives the EVIC as well? I'm asking because I would like to see if the dealership would be willing to try loading the newer version 5 series software to see if we can gain the new EVIC functions (like 0-60 timer )!

yes it's the EVIC software, but it is build date specific, you won't get the newest version with the 0-60 timer because the programming in only avail in 2007 models.

unless you change out your cluster to a 2007 that option is not available for you.

but chances are you don't have the latest version for your 2006.. and since 99% of the time you need an excuse for the dealer to flash the CCN.. there is your excuse.
