Cold A/C?

My 300 doesn't have very cold A/C, has anyone else experienced this?

It has right at 2k miles and with the weather getting hotter over the last month, I've noticed the A/C doesn't seem to get very cold. I use it when temps exceed 85-90 degrees.

Any suggestions and/or comments?

I'd take it into the dealer. If your car is still under warranty, the dealer should be able to help you.

is that all the time or just from beginning? I don't use A/C much but when it's parked outside in the sun it takes few minutes before it gets cold where as if's in the garage and I start it, it quickly gets cold. If these don't apply to you , then yeah take it to the dealer, hopefully it's a quick fix.

my srt came with a cold AC but its never enough it was 52 yesterday

so i did this mod and my AC is 10 times colder than stock . i always get so many compliments on how good the chrysler AC is i love this mod.

what i did was disconnect the two hot water hoses going into passenger compartment and just connected them together with 1 inch hose connector.

look at pic to understand what i mean

This has been discussed extensively at:

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/srt...g-quality.html

We have had 90 degree days recently here in South Florida and I am still not impressed with the quality of the air conditioner on the big engine C's.

I will tell you when I brought my C in for service this week, the loaner was an '07 Charger with the 6 cylinder engine, and the A/C really was awful. We were driving on the turnpike at 80 mph for 20 minutes before the car started to cool down to a reasonable temperature. The loaner did not have tinted windows, which is a big plus in cooling down the car more quickly.

There has also been a lot of discussion as to the temperature at the rear seat air duct, also mostly negative.

PS: My '98 Intrepid ES had air conditioning that kicked butt, and I remain disappointed in the unit in the new C.

Thanks Guys!

I have tinted windows and use a windshield reflective shade and find that even after 10-15 minutes, it's just not that cold. I read the link and see that a lot of other folks are not impressed with the Chrysler A/C system.

My wife drives a 1995 Buick Century and it will flat give you frost bite!

I have a couple of other issues to bring to the attention of the dealer so I'll discuss the A/C then.

Thanks for the great comments!!

I don't know if this will help, but I was having problems with mine because I wasn't using the auto feature properly. Once I figured it out it has worked great.

I've been having a bit of trouble with mine, it's not very cold at idle, or for the first 20 minutes its on. Didn't notice it in Germany, but now that I am in the great state of Texas, I notice it. I'll try the Auto feature ( I already use recirculate to make it colder) and let you know if Auto mode makes a difference for me.
