Shifting problems!

My 300 has the five speed automatic with the 3.5L V6 and I have had a couple of strange shifting situations.

I've owned the car since the first of the year and have noticed about four times in 2k miles that when making a right hand turn on a green light that the transmission shifts down to 1st as though I had used the bump stick and will not come out of first until I manually shift it.

All the other times it down-shifts but remains in "D" and automatically goes up through the gears.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there something I can do?

Are you sure you're not hitting the auto stick on accident? (I've done this many times) Did you change out your shift knobs?

I usually only use the auto stick when trying to maintain my speed down hills. I don't think I'm accidentally hit the shifter but I do rest my right arm on the console and over the shifter. I have the stock leather shifter knob.

One thing I do frequently is hit the cruise control lever when reaching for the turn signal lever!!LOL

Thanks again for your input, I've got to make atrip to the dealer soon anyway, so I'll bring it up then.

Lol, you probably do bump it...
Why?
Because it only happens in turns and you most probaly don't think ure pulling on it but lets face it, it is very delicate and easy to bump into austostick.
but just to be certain, next time it happens look down at the evic and if the small 1 in a box appears it is in autostick (sorry if you already know this) and then you will know that is the issue and it's not just an entire transmission problem which could be potentially far worse....
