If anyone has purchased their Rec Navigation from dealer(mopar) ....I have a quick question, Well Wednesday all of the sudden after I pick up my car from Chrysler service....I proceed to input a CD in the changer and all I see is a disc error. Now I'm pissed so I go back into the service dept. and tell the manager that my Navi. isn't working and tells me well no one touched it. So he goes back into the service dept. and comes back out only to tell me that the Navi didn't come with the car, so I proceed to tell that I knew that already, and that I received it as a gift from girlfriend about a year ago. So he tells me that the only way he can have replaced is, if I could provide a receipt. So I am going like crazy looking for my receipt, but just can’t find it. So I call the service manager on Friday and he tell me that he doesn’t care how I get the receipt as long as I provide him with one. I even offered him the numbers from the Navi. But said that wasn’t good enough……please help members…….Thank you to all.............

los24k - Before you go too far down the road of trying to get your navi repaired, there is one thing you should look into first. It may just be possible that the dvd you are trying to use is bad. Perhaps it got scratched or mildly toasted in the heat of the car?
I know these dvd's are not easy to find, but your dealer probably has a few cars sitting on the lot with navi's in them. Perhaps you could drop by and try one of those ones first? This might also be a good chance to test out a different dealer, to see how willing they are to help you out too. If they are helpful to you, you might want to switch your business to them.
You really should try another disc though, before you rip that navi out of your dash for repairs. Good luck.

So did you do the install yourself or did the dealership do the install? I find it crazy that they would be asking for a receipt if they did the install in the first place. Sorry maybe I’m missing something. I would try what KWhale mentioned. Good luck and keep us posted.

thanks members .....will try different dealers.....by the way I installed the navi....what a mistake that was....thats the reason the dealer wants a receipt...its not the dvd thats not working its the cd changer...........
