UConnect-Jet Mod Work With CHYX?

Been following the different threads on each of these mods for a while and have finally mustard up the courage to ask this question...

Since I will have the REC system exposed anyway for the Jet harness connection into it, I am itching to try a CHYX connection to hijack the VES (unused for me) input and bust out a connection for my MP3 player.

Originally was going to Bluetooth into REC for tunes but based on Bluetooth devices inability to control RF channel conflict, a plug it shall be....

Any obvious issues with using a CHYX with the Jet harness modification for UConnect? DO I have to have the VES port activated first since it wasn’t enabled at factory? My understanding is I won’t have to disconnect SAT if I can tap the VES....

Thanks!

First, welcome aboard and don't forget to introduce yourself in the new members section.

Second, no problem with using the PAC adapter with the jet harness you just daisy chain together with the factory harness. I been using both for the past year with no problems. The pac adapter will emulate either the sat or ves. So problem keeping the sat, you can't keep both when using the pac adapter.

Awesome... the plumbing seemed pretty straight forward but is was the "ghosts" I was affraid of...

For anyone interested, there is a pretty decent bluetooth audio module at Frys for $99. RCA from the PAC/CHYX adapter to the bluetooth module and BYO music a-la phone, PPC or ipod. I personally prefer the (now) AT&T 8525 as my MP3 player of choice.

Again, I don't recommend running both uConnect and BT audio module for music just because they both live in the 2.4 GHz world... and yeah, even though they are suppose to play nice together all bets are off when audio enters the picture...

Then again, we can go this route for our music...

Thanks for the answer!
