The only big difference I can see in that interior is that the cup holders are out in the open and cannot be hidden.
That seems like a step backwards to me, the only time I want to see my cup holder is in the morning when I have a cup in it, otherwise I prefer the sleek design of the cover being integrated into the mid cabin storage box.
The exterior is totally unimpressive, though I'm guessing that's because it is a base model.
I also do not like the rear spoiler with the centre brake light on the trunk.
NO BLACK THIS YEAR???!!???

Well I just saw the new interior of the Charger in person and wow, I'm very impressed. Soft touch material on the arm rests is very nice and the raised center area of the dash is nicer. MyGig is amazing. Everything feels better. I also noticed the revised Cruise Control and it seemed the rear air vents actually work now(not sure if they changed anything or not).

My 2008 300 impressions

My SRT-8 is at the body shop having a nick taken out of the rear bumper. My rental is an 08 300 Touring with leather. I can definitely see and feel some improvements with the interior changes. The center and door armrests are now covered in very soft leather and don't scuff up the arms any more. This is what I see as the biggest improvement. The guage faces are a little bit richer as there is now a mirrored face in the middle of the guages. I'm assuming that the guages in the upcoming SRT-8 will look different though. The interior of the car I had was black and I liked how it was all one color on the dash and doors now. The headliner and pillars were all covered in a light gray fabric, so the interior still is two-tone. I like the new trim piece on the passenger dash as it really needed something in that spot to fill the large void. My rental doesn't have the wood interior, but I can definitely imagine how nice it would look on the shifter console. The key is now completely different as there are no longer any teeth. I'm assuming that the key now sends an electronic signal to the ignition to start it now. I would hope that the battery in the key never runs out, otherwise you will be stranded. The new location of the cruise control is nicer that it's on the steering wheel. Overall, the car does look more luxurious now.

Disappointments:

1) I had heard that the car was supposed to have softer materials all around. This is definitely not the case. The upper dash is still the same rubbery material. The lower dash and doors still have the crappy hard plastic. I really hope they improve this with the redo in a few years. The only softer areas are the armrests.

2) The slot next to the shifter is much smaller now. You will not be able to get much into this slot any more.

3) I'm not fond of the new open cupholder style, but I guess it's all up to the individuals tastes.

4) I didn't like the leather on the seats. They almost seem like fake leather or the cheapest rawhide type leather they could find. I hope they use a nicer softer leather in the C and above.

08 300c

Sat in the new 08 300c , well... the interior is still CHEAP looking !
The wood looks cheap with that lousy plastic chrome and the doors padding ends where the same crappy plasic trim starts below the door pulls ! I really hope chrysler drastically changes the interior in 09 .
For my money the new 08 cadillac cts is a beautiful example of what a well made interior should be . Oh well...

After several delays, I've just been notified that my 08 300C AWD has been shipped and I should be able to pick it up next week.

I know there's been requests for people to post pictures, if still relevant, I will post a bunch of pictures showing the differences from my former 05 in one collection.

The very prettiest interior is in the Heritage Edition, especially the ones with the tortous shell steering wheel and wood grain. However, the 2006 interior is very sharp with the 300C red/white/blue medallions on the front of the upper front seats. I like the graystone leather better than the darker color, but that is merely a preference of each individual.

The only significant difference I saw was the cup holders. I have a 2006 300C Heritage that looks at least as good. I do like the wood grained trim....

I for one like my 06's cheap interior.
