Rolling south of the 49th!

Well gang ,we're loaded and cocked.Vacation starts tomorrow(first in 2 years, yes, self employed).Gonna roll down to Cinninati,Oh. to visit the PPP boys for a few goodies then over to Bristol, Tn.to play at Mopar Thunder(always wanted to make a pass at Thunder Valley!).Finishing off the road trip by going to the NHRA drags at Petersburg Va. first week of October(Nitro always brings a tear to my eye).
I'll update this thread from time to time from the road (wife's new laptop will come in handy).I hope to cross paths with some of you guys and gals on our tour through the USA!

Cool

Good evening gang, just a quick update from the road.Crossed at 1000 islands a little after noon ( Border Agent thought the DUB grill was classy,I agreed!)First time I've rolled more than 300 miles in one shot with the Cool Vanilla. The new BFGs had good grip and I got 220 miles on 12 gallons cruising between 70 and 80 MPH.Rolling south on 81 is a nice run in the dry,but with the temp around 85F my air was acting funny. Also had frequent buffering from cross wind through Ontario and upstate New York ( thought it was the tires at first!)I'm bunking down near Harrisburg Pa. then heading west in the morning.Thats it for now.

Second night on the road and we're finally settled in!The run west along 76 through the western Pennslyvanian mountains is beautiful.Smooth dry pavement twisting and turning up and down the Alleghenny mountains is the way to go!Put 500 miles on the Cool Vanilla and passed the 25,000 mile mark.Arrived in Cincinatti about 5pm checked in then checked out local HoJo(I think our neighbours were dealing out of their room!)Found comfortable digs a little further down the road(wife can relax).Well tomorrow's the big day going to meet the PPP boys and begin the mods on the Cool Vanilla(hope I can sleep,I feel like a kid at Christmas!)Well that's it for now.

Today was dyno day, established a baseline for mods.Cranked 287 rwhp at 5200 rpm in 90 F, not to shabby!Brian at Torik is a really good guy ( lets me pretend to help wrenching).Saw the stage 2 PPP heads and they're beauties with 6.1 valves they should flow big and fast! The cam is impressive, much more beef than the 360 magnum cams I've seen. With the delay of the Diablo my module has been Fed exed to get flashed. Thanks for arranging the flash Andy, you da man!Tomorrow morning we pull the block and the fun begins! Thanks for the PM Eric, I'll be giving you a shout!
