What are the physics of a trickle charger that allow it to charge an otherwise unchargable battery?

no charger can charge an internally shorted battery. This is a common cause of replacement.

Many batteries just have sulfate build up on the plates and gradually lose power. The charger I bought simply pulses the current at a frequency that may dissolve this build up back into solution.

I run a whole fleet of trucks and have taken in many a battery that seems bad and charged it for a few days on my setup with like new results.
