I give up! This G*D DAMN RATTLE!

Today I went out and my goal was to get rid of the rattle that sounds like it is coming from behind the cluster. I laid down in the foot well with my arms all up and down behind where your knees hit and tie wrapped everything that could move. I did the HOWTO on removing the metal clips from right by the windshield as well. I take the freakin thing out, STILL THERE.

I am almost 100% sure it is coming from behind the cluster. Do you guys suggest me pulling the dash and the cluster and driving around while putting my hands in there? Is it difficult to remove the dash and cluster. The sound is killing me. I have a powerful system in there, but that is not a really fix.

I have read EVERYTHING there is about rattles on this forum, but I just can't find this one. It is def behind where my knees are/cluster area.

How hard is it to pull? Will the car even run without the cluster? Ugh I am soooo freaking pissed off it's not even funny.

Thanks for listening and any advice.
I am this >< close to selling this damn thing. (just pissed, not going to really do it.)

Check out this LXF thread by dunsantos (also a member here). Sounds like he might have a solution for you. I don't recall whether he's posted the same info here or not...

Yep... he did... it's under Tech Tips...

How to stop dash rattles, permanently
