300 Hemi C Stalling?

I am posting this for my dad who has a 2006 300C, he has been experiencing the car stalling and this lightning bolt like warning light on the dash lighting up. We tried disconnecting the battery and it worked for one day then it started stalling again. It has a aftermarket chip in it, but that has been on there for a few months now. We are going to try to remove the chip to see if this makes a difference. The only other mods is a Mopar CAI nad Corsa Exhaust. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Chris

How many miles? Have you changed plugs? Have you kept the filter (Mopar CAI) cleaned and oiled?

Thumbs down

With our 2005 300C we had a random, intermittent stall problem. Generally, from a stop for a traffic light or turn signal and the stall occurred when you tried to accelerate. More often than not it was during a turn when the stall occurred, but many times it was just straight acceleration from a stop.

You had to let up on the throttle, allow the engine to catch and continue. No dealer every found a problem or resolution.

Very concerning as you never know if the power you need will be there or not.

My Dad says it happens when he comes to a stop then tries to accelerate or if he tries to make a left hand turn. The cat only has less than 10,000 miles on it and it is well maintained. The plugs where never replaced and the filter should be in good condition, since the manufacturer says to re oil and clean evry 100,000 miles. Should I check the filter? Could the chip be making this happen? My dad wants to bring it back to the dealer so do you think we should remove the chip first? According to the chip manufacturer it should not void the warranty.
Thanks chris

Well ided to take the chip out to see if that what was causing the problem and since I have taken it out the stalling has stopped. My dad can definately tell the difference with the chip out. We noticed the chip was alittle wet so I am wondering when we washed the car rthe other day if we might have got the chipt wet. We are going to drive the car for a few days and then reinstall the chip to see if the problem comes back.

Is the car under 36,000 miles and if so take it to the dealer. The codes shoukd be locked. Should being the key word. Contact me if you don't get help as I work for a dealer.

If you have anything that is modifying the throttle body it will potentially set off the lightning bolt. An aftermarket air filter can do the same. Is your dealer working with you or not?

Since we removed the chip the problem has totally gone away. The chip and CAI have been on the car now for over a year now and only till now did we have problems. I am hoping it was only that the chip got wet that it was causing this problem. I will let you know what happens when we put the chip back in. When we installed the CAI we were told by the dealer that as long as we use Mopar parts, it won't affect the warranty.
Thanks Chris
