Window Tint Ticket

Going to pick my son up from work on Sunday AM and get pulled over for window tint. Mine is not blackout tint by any means, but I guess tint is tint from where I'm from. The Man writes me up for both front sides and rear sides separately to make even more expensive. Gotta luv them there law writen people..... Anyway, has anyone fought this crap in court in their home town and if so, was it a positive result on your end? I went to the tint place and paid $40 for them to remove the tint from the side windows as it's legal to keep it on the trunk window and mailed a copy of the tint guy receipt to the local court pleading not guilty and asking in writing for them to be leinient on my fine. Any input on this is appreciated.

Best thing about is when I called the tint guy to remove the tint. He knew exactly why I called and who pulled me over. Says this officer only pulls cars over for tint exclusively while his other brothers mostly look the other way. Guess it's not worth having the tint left on if I gotta worry about Office of the Year pulling me over. I've lived in the same area for 15+ years and haven't seen or heard of this kind of treatment from the man. Must be my luck ran out or I should have been in church that morning.

I got a ticket with my last car, a Chrysler Concorde bought used from Carmax. Carmax removed the film, no charge, and I sent the Receipt to the court and the charges were dismissed. Not bad for Virginia.

Bet you live in norther California huh? I dont have limo tint either but, got pulled over THREE times already in the past 3 months for the tint on the 300. Never ever have I been pulled over in ANY other of my tinted cars.

They DO profile drivers of 300's for a fact! Especially the ones they CAN'T see.

I've been pulled over twice in the past 6 months for tint. The 2nd time I got hit for no front plate too. Luckily I didn't have to remove it. (It helps to have friends and family that are LEOs) I got the tickets signed off and paid $10 each time for the admin fee. If I get stopped again, I'll probably take it off. No reason to keep getting hassled. The front plate will never go on though.

When I moved from Atlanta to Columbus, I brought my Z car with me. It had limo tint and I got pulled over for it. Right now I think my tint is 35%, while the legal limit is 50. My 300 had the tint on it when I bought it. I asked the dealer to take it to the local Highway Patrol station to ask if it would be a problem and they said that the officer didn't really care. So far, so good, knock on wood.

What % do you have it tinted at? Are you in the Portland area? Valley? Eastern OR (JK).
