Seems fair, not knowing the vehicle.

I paid 25K a month ago for mine with 28K miles.

Try to compare prices to craiglist and ebay. It should give you some idea.

Depending on the options the car has that could be a great price, although as others have said, that's very high mileage for just a year old. The assumption would be lots of traveling salesman type highway miles vs. harsher short hops and rental-type abuse.

Since it's a family member you have a good chance of knowing the treatment and maintenance history of this vehicle much more accurately than most. Has the car given that family member any trouble during those many miles? Probably not, but never hurts to ask.

Is there an extended warranty to transfer?

See who owned it previously, the dealership will be able to pull up the records.

If it is a rental, walk away. If it is a personal car, the only way to get that sort of mileage is a lot of highway which is not hard on the vehicle at all.

Keep in mind "2006" models started being built in March 2005, so it is possible it's about 2.5 years old. So that may not be excessive miles for this particular car depending on its 'in service' date. If you keep a car 10 years or so this is a moot point. But if you plan to change cars in 2 or 3 years then you will take a hit on resale value since there will be 2006 model cars that are in reality over a full year 'newer' and will have lower miles accordingly.

Hope that made sense.
