more predator problems!!

well i know everyone is sick of predator threads, me included. but i havent read about this problem yet. so hopefully this isnt a repost of someone elses problem. anywho............

so i loaded the 93 cai tune. i only get 91 octane here. my car would barely brake the tires loose off the line with esp disabled. but had mad power in the top end.

i took some advice and tried the 91 performance tune. OMG!!! what a night and day difference. i was laying clouds of smoke everywhere. but now the problems............... so i was loving the power. but i wanted to try my autostick, which i had set to paddle hold. so i hit the stick sideways. the display switched from "D" to numbers. showing me what gear i was in. but when i hit the stick nothing happened. the car was still in drive, but it was showing me what gear the tranny was selecting. really weird.

so i pulled over, shut the car off, and restarted. problem solved.

so 10 min later i shut the car off when i went to fight training. i came out of fight class about an hour and a half later. and when i started the car all the lights for the ESP, ABS, etc. had gone out. so i figure the coputer just lost the tune somehow?? so when i got home. i reloaded everything. but i havent gone out to test it yet as i am bagged and going to bed soon.

BTW, i have not done the update on my tuner yet. it never requested it when i backed up my stock tune. so i didnt bother. i think im gonna bring it in and update it anyway. but do i have to reload my stock tune first. will it be lost when i update??

thanks.

oya, so i assume i was getting a pile of knock retard with the 93 tune. i cant see any other reason for such doggish power down low. im sure the elevation i have here doesnt help either. so i suggest anyone who doesnt have 93 octane available try switching to the 91 tune.

i would update the tune. they are on 16a now, and i think it comes with 14. a lot of stuff has been corrected.

yeah you have to restore your stock tune, so any settings you changed will be lost in the predator. update it to 16a and try and install it.

im assuming your car didnt need any updates from DCX, or you wouldnt have been able to install the DS tune. try with the newest version and see what happens.

not sure what you mean about DCX updates?? i did have the trans flashed for the 1-2 shift hesitation. and they replaced my gauge cluster that had lights burnt out in it. they definitely did something to the computer. because i had the chime silence fix done. but when i got the car back, all my chimes worked again.

if your cars PCM is not the current version, the predator will (should) tell you, and you have to go to Diablos website and download it to your predator and install it BEFORE installing the tune. if it allowed you to install the tune, im sure that you have the most up to date DCX PCM already.

try the predator updates and see if that makes a difference. mike has been saying numerous times on LXF not to use the 91 tune if you use 93 gas, and vice versa.

ha ha what did I tell you about that specific tune????

The problems that you are having might require you to call Diablo. But this is what I would do first. Go back to your original tune. Drive the car just a little. Then re-load the tune that you liked. Make sure all of your lights, radio, and other electric things are off and doors closed.

If that does not do the trick I would update the tuner to the latest version and try reloading a tune. If all that fails and you see those little problems come up a quick call to Diablo is in order.

I believe that tune file is either corrupt or did not load properly. Hopefully it just did not load properly and you can get it back on track.

Moose.
