Well after a month it is official, I hate this car and the service dept at my dealer.

Day 1.
Well after a month it is official, I hate this car and the service dept at my dealer. My saga begins by waiting over 4 months for a 300c with all options except uconnect. The car finally comes the dealer said it was hear and it was beautiful, and oh by the way you have to pick it up in three days or they were selling it! I guess that is my reward for waiting for 4 months. Well I go look at the car and there are scratches on the drivers side rear door, the front door chrome is scratched, the black trim above that looks like someone took a screwdriver to it, the trunk lid is missing paint in a dime sized spot!!! Glad they went over it!!! Well unless I want to order another one all they can do is fix it, bring it back in a few weeks and we will get it fix.

Day 5. This is my first day really driving it the weather has been terrible here in PA. Car seems sluggish, way slower than the one I test drove. Maybe it just needs to be broken in. The self-sealing tires seem to bumpy when cold they need a few miles before the start to smooth out. Hopefully this will go away when it warms up.

Day 10. Front door starting to rattle from all of the bass coming from the front doors, I can feel the subwoofer moving when I touch it, but you can not even hear it. I’ll have them look at it when it goes in.

Day 18. Made the appointment for the dealer to have the paint fixed they need it first thing Monday morning, they are going to give me a 2001 Sebring to drive while it is in for service, that sucks. I think I’ll take the covers off the Saab Convt and drive that instead. Now I am waiting and waiting.

Day 30
Since I hadn’t heard from them I figured since today is Thursday, I would call for an update. Well the car is not finished yet and the body shop needs until next week to finish. NO WAY, this should not be taking so long; they knew all the parts they would need before hand. They told me things take time, so I drive out to the body shop that the dealer subs to. He tells me they told him there was no rush, no rush the damn thing is brand new (600 miles) and there is no rush. And to add insult to injury, they sent it to him a day late because they had to look at my subwoofer and road test the right pull. They said, the subwoofer is moving so, that means everything is OK. What bullcrap, I have an 8 inch sub in the back of my Expedition factory system and I have had a few people ask me to turn it down when they are riding in the back seat. With this piece of crap you couldn't tell it was working unless it was ridding in your lap.

I know now that I never should have purchased a Chrysler, no matter how good on paper they may seem. At the end of the day they are still Chrysler.

wow....i would hate to be you, even though your dealer sucks..you seem to have a sh!tty outlook on life. almost everyone on here likes, im sorry, loves the car, so it cant be as bad as what your making it. I went throuh horrible horrible horrible dealer problems but I still love my car.

Lemon Law for a subwoofer - I think not!

Sorry you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, but hating "the car" becaue the transit people damaged it and the dealer may be sorry seems moot? Sounds like you should be hating the transit people and the dealership and not the car nor Chrysler. Chrysler does not own the transit company nor the dealership. The car still being a Chrysler has nothing to do with the transit people and the people at the dealership either.

Also, hating the entire car becaue a subwoofer does not do what you expect is also difficulat for me to understand. The title of your post does not match your problems in anyway.

Well that plain sucks! Sorry to hear about all those headaches. Don't feel alone, I've been there, and the vehical of crime was a New HONDA. Considered to be the most reliable cars on this earth.

When cars are involved there are no promises. In a way you have to pray and hope for the best.

I know at this point you are fed up, but give the car a few more months after you get it back, and if you have anymore issues, try to find a new dealership to take it to. Best of Luck

Hey jrgreen,

Take it easy. Look what you have went through is a very bad situation just try and relax, if you dont get the car by the end of next week call chrysler customer service and report this incident to them. I purchased my car about 6 weeks ago and i got 4k miles on my chrysler and no issues except the stupid alignment(this is my fault for replacing with bf goodrich tires). NOW i too am seeing the sub issue from day one it worked great, it just doesnt work any more, wait a sec, MY SUB STOPPED WORKING after I WASHED THE CAR MYSELF WHAT THE F**K. If i remember exactly after i washed my car with MR Clean autowash(which has nothing to with sub not working), my sub stopped working. Could the water leaked through in to the sub, moisture at connection cables anything. My trunk is rattling like crazy and my front is rattling like crazy the back seats are booming but no bass what is this issue.

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT JRGREEN. Hey but the drive, the handling and the quietness are wonderfull. I am throwing my 8" sub away in the future as soon as some one in the board can come up with a easy way of setting up the subwoofer correctly.

I am taking my baby to the dealer tonight about the sub and my dealer is big here next to the headquarters and they dont like bad comments or remarks on there delearship name because the HQ is right next door. They will guaranteely fix this issue or replace the sub.

Dude, you are taking out hostilities on a car and Chrysler that are very much the dealer problems ONLY.

The ones that ARE car specific (from what I can gather) are:

- tires: this is common and already talked about just this week here. I have also had other cars in the past with 'flat spotting' over night, etc. That is a tire issue.

- door rattle/bass: not sure how bad a rattle you are talking about, but I can only imagine you are playing the stereo really loud in the first place. I play mine moderately loud with no issues.

- right pull: discussed to death here...take it for an alignment at least

- subwoofer: sounds like this may or may not be a legit gripe

I have had some issues with my C from the beginning, but still love the car due mostly to the professionalism and responsiveness of my dealer and service dept.

Get your car out of that dealer/shop and never go back. Find a new one and your outlook might change dramatically.

I am tottally supporting what jjs says. I wish all the dealers are a alike but i probably found the best dealer than a lot of people here. I am very fortunate to pick up my car next to chrysler HQ. They wouldnt play these hardball games with customers when the HQ is next door. My car came with couple scratches on the back and i soon as i spotted them, the next instant the SALESWOMEN(not being sexist here, but they should be called saleswomen not salesmen) took the car keys asked me to get in and we went right to the service department where they parked mine next to a brand new red viper(GORGEOUS). They were buffin out the scratches and going over the car twice and waxing the spots they missed ah what a experience, oh while they were fixing my car the saleswomen was trying to sell me the VIPER, and i started laughing.


PS: I JUST SAW A FULLY LOADED CHARGER SILVER WITH DARK GREY SPOILER. THE SPOILER IS ATLEAST 5 INCHES OF THE TRUNK.

Many will say you are not supposed to "hear" a sub woofer....do yourself a favor and disconnect the center channel speaker in the middle of the dash. Take a credit card and pop off the grill, remove 2 screws, unplug speaker, reinstall speaker and grill....

Just try it, if you aren't happy with the results, plug it back in.

I do understand about "taking it out on the car" - the dealer represents the car, I had a few frustrations with the dealer, and it made my attitude about driving the car change...found a new dealer, and I can tell you - I LOVE this car and the personality it has.

JR...sounds like classic frustration.

Also sounds like you read one of my posts "It's still a Chrysler"...anyway.

I feel your pain...one of my major gripes deals with service also...but like mama used to always say..."you get what you pay for"

and I know you didn't pay to have your car delivered with scratches, but dude, come on, it could be worse...if you waited 4 months, then whats another couple weeks?

Don't beat up Chrysler, they're trying. Don't dog the car...hell its a 300C forum, not gonna get far there. But most of all, just take a deep breath, count to ten.

10....9...8...7..6..5...4...3...2...1...Feel Better yet? No? well you gotta BB gun and a neighborhood cat? (meow)

It'll be alright, and if it was so bad, you shouldve told them to go ahead and sell it.

Still love my Genius Black!! Can't wait till her shoes come.

But I stand on the side with you when I say, even though they put a nice pretty frame on the car...isn't this the 300M with some upgrades?

I've never had a car that didn't have some kind of problems... and I've had a LOT of cars. I'd venture to say few of us have ever had a car that was truly problem-free. Where the distinction comes in is our individual tolerance level for this inevitability and it sounds like yours is low. I'm not saying that's a bad thing; we all handle stresses in our own way based on our own life experience in general.

As outsiders we can say, with conviction, that your list consists of minor annoyances... not a single 'true' problem; frustrating yes, but fixable. The fact that you have several frustrations in a short period of time, and from the moment of delivery, may have pushed you over the edge... temporarily. You may re-read your post another month from now and wonder who the hell wrote it and signed your name!?!

I agree with giving someone a 2nd chance, but if you're really unhappy, heed the advice given here and change dealerships. BUT when you do, consider changing your attitude as well. Consciously or not, we tip people off as to what our expectations are so go in with a positive outlook, introduce yourself to the Service Manager and let him/her know you're certain you made the right decision and that you're confident they'll provide you with excellence in service and satisfaction. You may be surprised at how this can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The car is a dream... Your experience is the nightmare!
